The Grudge is a 2016 Nigerian film produced by Funmi Holder and directed by Yemi Morafa. The film that is based on relationship and marriage stars Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Iretiola Doyle, Odunlade Adekola and Jaiye Kuti. [1] [2] [3] [4]
The film revolves around two separated spouses from two different marriages and a widow as they battle to settle an aged long grudge that is creating a rift among them. [5] [3]
The film was first premiered on 23 October 2016 at the Radisson Blu, Lagos. [1] [5] Following the success of the first screening, a VIP premiering was held for the cast, celebrities and notable people such as Funlola Aofiyebi, Caroline King, Taiwo Obileye, Elvis Chuks and Hon. Otunba George Oladele at Sojourner Hotel, GRA, Ikeja. [6] [3]
Richard Evans Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is a foremost Nigerian actor, writer, producer, lawyer, and former journalist. He was also a Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State in 2009. In 2005, he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016. In 2024, he was honoured with the Industry Merit Awards, alongside Iya Rainbow at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.
Odunlade Jonathan Adekola ; born 31 December 1976) is a Nigerian actor, singer, film-maker, film producer and film director. He gained popularity and was widely known for his lead role in Ishola Durojaye's 2003 movie, Asiri Gomina Wa, and has acted in many Nollywood movies since then. He is the founder and CEO of the Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP).

Oloibiri is a 2016 Nigerian action thriller film directed by Curtis Graham, produced by Rogers Ofime and starring Olu Jacobs and Richard Mofe Damijo. The film tells a story on how government agencies, along with oil companies exploited the newly discovered oil in the historic town of Oloibiri. The film had its premier on 21 October 2016 at the Shell Nigeria hall, Muson center, Onikan. Former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon, former Secretary general, Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku were present at the event. Speaking to Channels TV after watching the film, former Minister for Information, Professor Jerry Gana described the film as having a "clear and powerful message" on the sufferings of people in the Niger Delta. He also encouraged other filmmakers to make more of such films. Richard Mofe Damijo, who played the role of a disgruntled indigene, who became a militant, "Gunpowder" in the oil rich town described his role as a "modern day Robinhood". He also stated that he hopes government and international organizations will come to the aid of people in Niger Delta.

The film was released to Netflix on 22 September 2023, Nigerian online newspaper Premium Times has likened Richard Mofe-Damijo's character in the film to John Wick's character owing to the storyline leaning towards a former hitman who is now drawn back into the criminal underworld he had abandoned.
