The Legend of Inikpi is a 2020 Nigerian epic drama film directed by Frank Rajah Arase. [2] The film stars Nancy Ameh in the titular role. The film was the debut as a film producer for actress Mercy Johnson. [3] [4] [5] Set in the ancient kingdoms of Igala and Benin, the plot revolves around the story of two kingdoms on the brink of war. [6] [7] The film was premiered on 19 January 2020 and had its theatrical release on 24 January 2020 in Nigeria and Ghana. [8] [9] It was opened to positive reviews and became a box office success. It became the highest-grossing epic historical film in the Nollywood industry, grossing over 20 million, surpassing the previous record set by the 2016 film Ayamma . [10]

The film production also historically marked the first instance of a major collaboration between the Nigerian military and Nollywood film industry. The film plot is based on the struggles, dedication and sacrifices of the Nigerian Airforce soldiers and their fight against the insurgency in the Northern part of Nigeria. The Ghost and the Tout Too is a 2021 film directed by Michael Akinrogunde and is a sequel to 2018 film "The Ghost and the Tout" directed by Charles Uwagbai. The film features Toyin Abraham who plays lead but stars alongside notable veteran actors including Patience Ozokwo, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, Odunlade Adekola, Ini Edo, Ali Nuhu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Osas Ighodaro.

Princess Inikpi was the virgin princess of the Igala Kingdom, buried alive to save the kingdom from the doom of the Igala-Benin war in 1515-1516 during the rein of Ata Ayegba Oma-idoko. Her status is still standing at her burial spot at Ega market close to river Niger in Idah, Kogi State Nigeria. Many Igala have named their daughters after her.
