Premise

It follows librarians including Carolyn Foote and Suzette Baker, in Texas, Florida, and other states, as they unite to combat book banning in the United States. [3]

Production

Moms for Liberty denied requests to be interviewed for the film. [4] ITVS co-produced the film, with Independent Lens retaining broadcast rights. [5] [6]

Release

It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2025 [7] and is scheduled for a screening on March 7, 2025 at the South by Southwest film festival. [8] It is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2025, by 8 Above. [9]

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes , 100% of 11 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 8.4/10.
