The Malvern School, founded in 1998, is a year-round private preschool for ages six weeks to eight years. The school has 27 locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and Central and Southern New Jersey.
Joseph Scandone and Kristen Waterfield founded the Malvern School in 1998. [1] Scandone also founded the Goddard School in 1986. Scandone served as president and CEO until 1996. [2] Malvern currently operates schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
In 2010, the Malvern School hosted a school-wide event based on First Lady Barbara Bush’s pro-literacy radio program "Mrs. Bush’s Story Time," which featured celebrities reading classic children’s stories. [3] Bush said, "I am especially pleased that the Malvern School is using the broadcasts as educational events for their students, and I wish them the best of luck.” [4]
Since 2008, The Malvern School has been a sponsor of The Alex Scott – Stand for Hope Phone Bank on CBS 3-Philadelphia and the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) by raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer. Every year since 2008, each Malvern School location hosts an Alex's Lemonade Stand Day. [5]
As of 2018, The Malvern School had raised nearly $800,000 for Alex's [6] and has been recognized by ALSF as one of the top 100 individual fundraisers for the foundation in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area. [7]

Lawrence David Mendte is an American news anchor, commentator and radio talk show host. Mendte is currently hosting three TV shows, Jersey Matters, The Delaware Way, and Another Thing with Larry Mendte. Mendte also hosts The Larry Mendte Show on WABC (AM) in New York. Until a few years ago, Mendte wrote and delivered nightly commentaries at WPIX in New York City that were aired at TV stations across the country. He continued writing and delivering the commentaries on "Another Thing with Larry Mendte," which airs in the New York and Philadelphia TV markets. Mendte was the first male host of the American syndicated television show Access Hollywood. From 2003 to mid-2008, he was the lead anchor of the 6pm and 11pm newscasts for KYW-TV, the CBS O&O in Philadelphia. Monsignor Bonner High School was an all-male Augustinian Catholic High School in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It was located in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. Bonner was created in 1953 as Archbishop Prendergast High School for Boys. In 1955, the current building was constructed, and in 1957 entitled Monsignor Bonner High School. The previously occupied building became the all-female Archbishop Prendergast High School. In 2012, Bonner merged with the all-girls Archbishop Prendergast High School to form Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast High School. The Order of St. Augustine is no longer associated with the combined institution.
