Track racing uses an artificial lure that travels ahead of the dogs on a rail until the greyhounds cross the finish line. As with horse racing, greyhound races often allow the public to bet on the outcome.

The Australian Cup is a greyhound racing competition held annually at the The Meadows in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia. The event was inaugurated in 1958 at North Melbourne Oval and is organised by the Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association (MGRA). The race moved with the MGRA and when the North Melbourne track closed it switched to Olympic Park but when Olympic Park closed it was held at Sandown Park for two years in 1997 and 1998, while the club established its new home at the Meadows.
Cannington Greyhounds is a greyhound racing venue on Station Street and Grey Street near Albany Highway in Cannington, Western Australia. The venue is owned and operated by the Western Australian Greyhound Racing Association (WAGRA). Race meetings take place most Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights and some Sundays. Race distances are 275, 380, 520, 600, and 715 metres.
Eastern Sportsground also known as Olympic Park No.2 was a multi-purpose outdoor stadium located on Olympic Boulevard in inner Melbourne. The stadium was built as a field hockey venue for the 1956 Olympics. It was primarily used for greyhound racing and was the home of the Melbourne Greyhound Racing Association (MGRA) from 1962 until 1996. The first tenants were the Victorian Amateur Football Association from 1956 until 1961 and Olympic Park No.2 was formerly part of the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct.
