It is the first track of the group's second album T.N.T., released only in Australia and New Zealand on 8 December 1975, and was written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott. The song combines bagpipes with hard rock instrumentation; in the middle section of the song there is a call and response between the bagpipes and guitar. The original recording is in B-flat major, but it was played live in A major.

Lyle Joseph Ritz was an American musician, known for his work on ukulele and bass. His early career in jazz as a ukulele player made him a key part of the Hawaii music scene in the 1950s. By the 1960s, he had begun working as a session musician, more often on double bass or electric bass guitar. His prominence in the Los Angeles session scene made him a part of the Wrecking Crew, an informal group of well-used Los Angeles–based musicians. Ritz contributed to many American pop hits from the mid 1960s to the early 1980s. Starting in the mid-1980s, a rediscovery of his earlier ukulele work led to him becoming a fixture in live festivals, and a revival of his interest in playing the ukulele. He was inducted to both the Ukulele Hall of Fame Museum and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2007.
Miz Ima Starr is a New Zealand/American singing drag cabaret performer of stage and small screen. She is the comic creation of Charles Bracewell, best known for her appearances on reality TV show Australia's Got Talent. Bracewell produced and/or directed six films and one documentary television series, most notably the short film Siren starring Craig Hall (actor) and Dean O'Gorman. The film screened at forty film festivals worldwide and was described by ImageOut as being "A beautifully shot piece on the process of grief, this film deftly explores the conflicted emotions of a young soldier whose mysterious encounter with a siren allows him to come to terms with the loss of his best friend in battle". He co-hosted In The Pink, the first GLBTIQ show on an FM station in New Zealand, with Rick Huntington on Auckland's 95bFM Radio from 1991 to 1998.
