The Nickelodeon HALO Awards was a yearly TV special that aired originally on TeenNick but later expanded to Nickelodeon and Nicktoons in its final years. Usually aired every December, the awards profiled five ordinary teens who are Helping And Leading Others (HALO). Created by chairman Nick Cannon, the show was similar to other awards shows, such as CNN's Heroes award. The ceremony ended after its 2017 iteration, due to budget cuts to TeenNick that left it without any original programming.

Despite the simulcast, the show suffered a deep drop from the 2014 ceremony, attracting approximately 3,630,000 million total viewers for the original American airing, a drop of 27% from year to year. TV sitcom Austin & Ally swept the KCAs, taking home 3 blimps; the series is the second from Disney Channel to win favorite kids show in KCA history.

Aimed primarily at teens and tweens, its programming includes a variety of live-action series inherited from sister channel Nickelodeon. The channel launched on September 28, 2009, as the merger between two defunct programming blocks which also targeted a teenage audience: TEENick on Nickelodeon and The N on Noggin. Before its introduction as a channel, TeenNick's space used to be held by Nick GAS and a short-lived, 24-hour version of The N.
