The Original Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers is the first album by the Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers, released in 1997.

The Original Harmony Ridge Creekdippers are an Americana group formed by songwriter Mark Olson and his wife, Victoria Williams, after Olson left his previous band, the Jayhawks. The group has also been called Rolling Creekdippers as well as just Creekdippers.

For his first post-Jayhawks recording, Mark Olson returned to his folk and country roots and with the help of his wife Victoria Williams and multi-instrumentalist Mike "Razz" Russell, self-released The Original Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers.

Victoria Williams is an American singer, songwriter and musician, originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, although she has resided in Southern California throughout her musical career. She is noted for her descriptive songwriting talent, which she has used to immerse the listener of her songs into a vivid feeling of small-town, rural Southern upbringing and life. Her best-known songs include "Crazy Mary", and "Century Plant", and much of her work finds inspiration in nature,, everyday objects and the unseen, as in "Holy Spirit".

It was re-issued in 2001 by Koch Records.

Writing for Allmusic, music critic William Ruhlman called the album "a low-key effort that takes a distinctly homemade approach... As commercial releases go, one would have to call it underperformed and under-produced, with the feel of late-night exhaustion and dreamlike expression." [1]

The Jayhawks are an American alternative country and country rock band that emerged from the Twin Cities music scene during the mid-1980s. Led by vocalists, guitarists and songwriters Gary Louris and Mark Olson, their country rock sound was influential on many bands who played the Twin Cities circuit during the 1980s and 1990s like Uncle Tupelo, the Gear Daddies and the Honeydogs.
