The Planter's Plantation is a 2022 Cameroonian - US co produced musical drama film written , produced and directed by Eystein Young Dingha It is also produced by Irene Nangi [1] and associated by Nfor Julio Barthson( Don Julio Bats) . An allegory to neocolonization, the film was Cameroon's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 2023 Academy Awards. [2]

The film was nominated for top prize at the 2023 FESPACO and took home two awards: Ecobank's Ousmane Sembène Prize and Plan International's Prix Spécial for L'Egalite aux Filles (Special Prize for Equality for Girls). It was the first Cameroon film in 26 years to win the Ecran d'Or, Ecrans Noirs Festival's top prize, and made history for being the first Cameroonian film to be nominated for an AMVCA for its best Actress Nimo Loveline. Plot

Set in the 1960s, Enanga a young girl goes against all odds to preserve a plantation willed to her father by a member of the colonial government. [3]

Enah Johnscott is a Cameroonian movie director and producer. Movies done by Johnscot include Triangle of tears (2011), Decoded (2012), Whispers (2013), The African Guest (2013),The Fisherman's Diary (2020) and Half Heaven (2022). He directed the television series Samba (2016) and Apple For Two (2017). Johnscot gained international audience as a director for his 2013 movie My Gallery featuring Ghanaian born actor John Dumelo and Decoded featuring Ghanain Van Vicker. The Fisherman's Diary was selected as the Cameroonian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.

Onyama Laura is a Cameroonian actress. She won Best Actress at the 2017 Cameroon International Film Festival (CAMIFF), as well as Best Cameroonian actress at the 2016 Ecrans Noirs Film Festival. Laura's first role was in the 2011 film Heavy Rain, with other roles in Kiss of Death (2016), Saving Mbango (2020), and others. She is the President of the Limbe Branch of the National Actors' Guild of Cameroon (NAGCAM).
