Friendship Village is an unincorporated area in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. Inclusive within the Friendship Village CDP is the Village of Friendship Heights. The population was 4,512 at the 2000 census.
Adelphi is an unincorporated area and census-designated place in Prince George's County, Maryland. The population was 15,086 at the 2010 United States Census. Adelphi includes the following subdivisions; Adelphi, Adelphi Park, Adelphi Hills, Adelphi Terrace, Adelphi Village, Buck Lodge, Chatham, Cool Spring Terrace, Hillandale Forest, Knollwood, Lewiston, and White Oak Manor.
Langley Park is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland. It is located inside the Capital Beltway, on the northwest edge of Prince George's County, bordering Montgomery County, Maryland. Langley Park is contained between University Boulevard to the south, the Northwest Branch Anacostia River to the north, Phelps Road to the east, and the Prince Georges County / Montgomery County line to the west. An extremely small stretch of Piney Branch Road which goes into Prince George's County, goes into the Langley Park neighborhood as well, just before it crosses the Northwest Branch Anacostia River and intersects New Hampshire Avenue. While most of the Langley Park neighborhood contains the Hyattsville postal zip code of 20783, there is a small portion of Langley Park located west of New Hampshire Avenue, but east of the Prince George's County/ Montgomery County Line, which contains the Silver Spring postal zip code of 20903. Langley Park is surrounded by the communities of Adelphi, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Carole Highlands, and Lewisdale. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 18,755.

The mall billed itself as the first enclosed mall in the United States. Demolition of parts of the shopping center began on August 8, 2007.
The Dulles Town Center (DTC) is a two-level enclosed shopping mall in Dulles, Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, located five miles north of the Washington Dulles International Airport. The retail center gives its name to the census-designated place (CDP) within which it is located. It encompasses 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of GLA and is the largest enclosed shopping center in Loudoun County. The mall caters to the burgeoning and affluent population of eastern Loudoun and western Fairfax counties. Dulles Town Center is anchored by Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Lord and Taylor, Macy's, and Sears and features an eclectic mix of upscale retailers such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, and LOFT. In addition, the mall has been a launch pad for international retailers emerging into the U.S. market. High-end New Zealand children's store Pumpkin Patch opened its second U.S. store and German restaurant chain Vapiano opened its third U.S. location at Dulles Town Center in 2007 however it is now closed. In 2015, Vapiano closed down and its former spot is now a Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant in the mall. The sixth anchor was Nordstrom which closed on September 8, 2017 with no current occupier of its former space.
The Mall at Prince Georges is an enclosed regional shopping mall located in Hyattsville, Maryland, at the intersection of Belcrest Road and East-West Highway. It is served by a Washington Metro station, Prince George's Plaza, which shares the mall's former name. This station is on the Green Line. Located across Belcrest Road from the Mall is the University Town Center mixed-use development. It is currently owned and managed by PREIT.

Starting in the spring of 2016, The Collection was due to undergo renovations to become a vibrant new focal point in Chevy Chase. Uniting existing food and fashion destinations with a curated mix of new neighborhood shops and cafes, the redevelopment plans for The Collection include sweeping public spaces, activated sidewalks, and vibrant storefronts. Metro connectivity will be enhanced and pedestrian and vehicular access will be improved.
The Beltway Plaza mall is located in Greenbelt, Maryland. It was developed by Sidney J. Brown and First National Realty, opening on October 17, 1963. It was originally composed of a massive S. Klein department store separated by a large parking lot from an A&P Supermarket located in a strip shopping center along with a barbershop, single screen movie theater, and Drug Fair store. By 1972-73, a small indoor mall was created, situated between the strip shopping center and the S. Klein store, that included a 6-screen theater, steakhouse, a branch of George's appliance store chain, an ice cream shop, and in-house catalog store.
The Marlow Heights Shopping Center is an open-air shopping complex located in Marlow Heights, Maryland, on Branch Avenue at St. Barnabas Road, and is positioned just south of Shops at Iverson.

At its opening in 1956, it was the largest regional shopping center in Virginia. The backsplit two-story mall structure was razed in the mid-1990s and replaced with a dual ground level power center.
