The Singles is a singles compilation album released by German synthpop group Camouflage on 7 February 2014 via Polydor label. The album contains all of the band's twenty singles, remastered in their original single versions.

Camouflage (band) German New Wave band

Camouflage is a German new wave trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn, Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. Their only Billboard Hot 100 hit was "The Great Commandment", which earned No. 59 place in 1988, and earned three weeks at No. 1 on the US dance chart. They also had two additional minor dance hits in 1989. They were included in the music compilation listing 'Tucker Rock' in December of 2018. This honor was validated by the band's listing on the Pandora Station by the same name.

Release

The Singles was announced on 22 January 2014 via the band's website, coming soon after the announcement of their first boxset release The Box 1983-2013 and their eighth studio album Greyscale. [1]

The album contains all of the band's singles from 1987's The Great Commandment to 2007's The Pleasure Remains . All of the tracks have been remastered. It is also the debut release of the original seven-inch version of The Great Commandment on CD, as well as the debut of the single versions of "Thief" and "The Great Commandment 2.0" on an album.

The Great Commandment (song) 1987 single by Camouflage

"The Great Commandment" is the debut single from German synthpop band Camouflage, taken from their debut album Voices & Images. The single had originally been recorded three years prior and was re-recorded in 1987, giving Camouflage their only number one dance hit. "The Great Commandment" stayed at the top spot for three non-consecutive weeks. The single became popular on independent stations and crossed over to the mainstream American pop charts, peaking at number fifty-nine in 1988. In their native Germany, "The Great Commandment" went to number fourteen, and reached the top ten in over twenty countries.

The Pleasure Remains 2007 single by Camouflage

The Pleasure Remains is the third and final single from Camouflage's seventh studio album Relocated, released on January 1, 2007. The single contains remixes by Wet Fingers, Lowe, and Resonance, along with the b-side "Your Own World", which also appeared on the "Something Wrong" single.

Floyd Collin Wray is an American country music singer, known professionally as Collin Raye, and previously as Bubba Wray. Under the latter name, he recorded as a member of the band The Wrays between 1983 and 1987. He made his solo debut in 1991 as Collin Raye with the album All I Can Be, which produced his first Number One hit in "Love, Me".
