The Soccer Tournament 2023, also referred to as TST 2023, was the inaugural edition of The Soccer Tournament. The tournament was held from 1 June to 4 June 2023 in Cary, North Carolina. [1]

Contents

The tournament featured men's, women's, and some mixed-gender teams in the same tournament; it was won by Newtown Pride, the only fully amateur team in the tournament. [2] [3]

Controversy

During the match between West Ham United F.C. and Dallas United, players of West Ham walked off the pitch after an alleged racial slur said by a Dallas player. [6] [9] After an investigation, TST and Dallas mutually agreed in Dallas United's withdrawal from the tournament. [6]

The 2020 FC Cincinnati season was the club's second season in MLS, and the fifth season of a team playing under the FC Cincinnati brand after three years in the lower-division USL Championship. 2024 HKFC Soccer Sevens, officially known as The HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens due to sponsorship reasons, was the 21st edition and the 25-year anniversary edition of the HKFC Soccer Sevens tournament. It was the first edition of the tournament to have a women's competition.

The Soccer Tournament 2024, also referred to as TST 2024, was the second annual edition of The Soccer Tournament. The tournament was held from 5–10 June 2024 in Cary, North Carolina. There were two tournaments, one each for men and women, with both having a $1 million prize for the winners.

The 2024 Portland Thorns FC season is the team's twelfth season as a professional women's soccer team. Thorns FC played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the top tier of women's soccer in the United States. The Thorns opened the NWSL season against the Kansas City Current playing in the first game at the Current's newly built CPKC Stadium.
