The Staggering Stories of Ferdinand de Bargos is a 1989 BBC comedy television series, [1] in which surreal and satirical narratives are assembled entirely out of archive film clips, with new soundtracks provided by voice-over artists. It was written and produced by Geoff Atkinson and Kim Fuller, and ran for three series until 1995.
Most of the voice-overs were provided by voice artists who were already well known in the industry, having previously worked on comedy series such as Spitting Image . Among them were Jim Broadbent, Ronni Ancona, Kate Robbins, Enn Reitel, Jon Glover, Alistair McGowan and Caroline Leddy. Many of them went on to perform in front of the camera, taking starring roles in impressionist comedy series such as The Big Impression .

The Big Impression, known as Alistair McGowan's Big Impression for the first three series, is a British comedy sketch show. It features Alistair McGowan and Ronni Ancona impersonating personalities from entertainment and sport. Four series and a number of specials were made by Vera Productions and it was first broadcast on BBC One between 1999 and 2004.

Ferdinand is a 2017 American animated adventure comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The film, a loose remake of Ferdinand the Bull, and loosely based on Munro Leaf and Robert Lawson's 1936 children's book The Story of Ferdinand, was written by Robert L. Baird, Tim Federle, and Brad Copeland, and directed by Carlos Saldanha. The film features an ensemble voice cast that includes John Cena, Kate McKinnon, Bobby Cannavale, Peyton Manning, Anthony Anderson, David Tennant, Tim Nordquist, Lily Day, Juanes, Jerrod Carmichael, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Raúl Esparza, Gina Rodriguez, Daveed Diggs, Gabriel Iglesias, Flula Borg, Boris Kodjoe, and Sally Phillips. The music for the film was composed by John Powell, making it his eighth and final collaboration with Blue Sky before it shut down on April 10, 2021. The story, written by Ron Burch, David Kidd, and Don Rhymer, follows a gentle pacifist bull named Ferdinand who refuses to participate in bullfighting but is forced back into the arena where his beliefs are challenged when he faces off against the world's greatest bullfighter.
