The Telegraph in Schools (TTIS) is the largest student-run newspaper in East-India. TTIS was launched in 1999 and re-launched in July 2000. [1] [2] It is run by The Telegraph and Anandabazar Group or ABP group. [3] TTIS organizes the Great TTIS Challenge every year, with the motto "Skill, talent, competition, enjoyment and loads of fun". [4] TTIS Challenge is held at Swabhumi and it is the biggest inter-school event of eastern India, with participation of over 100 prestigious schools in Kolkata. Moreover, it also gives a chance to young and budding kids good at writing and journalism to become a journalist.

The Great TTIS Challenge

This is the largest fest-cum-carnival in Eastern India, where more than hundred schools compete against each other to become the Champion Of Champions. [8]

In 2013, Ralph Mao was awarded as the Champions of the champions students, and Kalicharan Shaw received the Star Tiger of the year memento. [9]

Jamboree

TTIS Jamboree is the annual award function where outstanding reporters are honoured. In 2013, Ishita Roy and Kalicharan Shaw were declared as the joint winners of the "Star Tiger Reporter of the Year" Award, the highest honour for a TTIS reporter. Ishita Roy has translated Chander Pahar in English for The Telegraph In Schools. [5]

Durga Puja, also known as Durgotsava or Shaaradotsava, is an annual festival originating in the Indian subcontinent which reveres and pays homage to the Hindu goddess Durga, and is also celebrated because of Durga's victory over Mahishasura. In this festival of Puri, several big clay idols of Mahisamardini Durga are worshipped every year in the month of Asvina (October).

Kolkata has many festivals throughout the year. The largest and most magnificently celebrated festival of the city is Durga Puja, and it features colourful pandals, decorative idols of Hindu goddess Durga and her family, lighting decorations and fireworks. Other major festivals are Diwali, Kali Puja, Holi, Saraswati Puja, Poush Parbon, Poila Boishakh, Christmas, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, etc.

Brajrajnagar is a town and a municipality in Jharsuguda district in the state of Odisha, India. Popular legend says the town was named after Braj Mohan Birla after he set up Orient Paper Mills in 1936. It is a small sleepy town on rocky terrain, built on the banks of IB river, with temples mostly built by the Birlas. Later it became famous for MCL-owned coal mines after Orient Paper Mills of Birlas managed by dulichand Hanuman Prasad shah closed down in 1999.

<i>Challenge 2</i> 2012 Indian Bengali action thriller film by Raja Chanda

Challenge 2 is a 2012 Indian Bengali-language action thriller film directed by Raja Chanda. Produced by Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The movie is a remake of 2011 Telugu movie Dookudu which itself was inspired from German film Good Bye, Lenin! (2003). It stars Dev, Puja Banerjee, Tapas Paul, Ashish Vidyarthi and in lead roles, alongside, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subhasish Mukherjee and Kaushik Chakraborty in another pivotal roles, with Biswanath Basu and Labani Sarkar in guest appearances. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2009 film Challenge, but contains a very different storyline. It revolves around an undercover officer as well as IPS Abhiraj Roy, who is on a mission to bring down the dreaded don Guru Nayak. But all on a sudden tragically he transforms into an MLA to fulfill his father's wish, who was in coma after meeting an conspiring accident as he was an honest and celebrated politician amongst the masses.

Sarathi Socio Cultural Trust is a non profit organization in Bangalore, founded in 2003. The organization is involved in organizing socio-cultural events in Koramangala, the highlight being the grand "Durga Puja", which sees at least 150,000 to 200,000 visitors every year, and which got the "Senco Sharod Samman" award for the best ambiance and crowd management in 2018. In 2020, Sarathi used its funds to help many people, like the idol-makers and others, whose livelihoods were badly impacted due to the pandemic.
