The Tragedy of Pompey the Great is a 1950 television film starring James Carney. It was based on the play The Tragedy of Pompey the Great . [1] [2] Stanley Baker had a small role.

The Evening Standard praised the production. [3] It was one of Carney's best known performances. [4] The Guardian said it "was always worth watching". [5] The Evening Chronicle felt it "wasn't suitable stuff for a large TV audience." [6]
