The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 was released to Nigerian cinema on October 18, 2024, the release ushered in achievements as the film becomes the highest ticket pre-sale for a Nollywood film, earning over ₦10 million through voucher sales just within two days of release. [3] Oboli while reflecting on the journey to returning the Wives on Strike franchise has affirmed that this is the best of the franchise and it will also act as a standalone as viewers do not have to watch the first and second version - Wives on Strike and Wives on Strike: The Revolution respectively to understand the third sequel. Synopsis

The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 tells the story of Ebiere, a meat seller at the women's market. Her son, who just graduated with honours was kidnapped, the seemingly gentle and easy going woman soon embarks on a dangerous mission to save her kidnapped son, putting her in more harm. [5]

Production and release

Following the release of The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3 to cinema on October 18, 2024, the film tops West African Box Office becoming the highest performing film at the West African Box Office. [7] A Movie Reporter with Pulse Nigeria, Brooks Eti-Inyene has summarized the movie as portraying the message that women can be indeed agents of societal change. [5]
