8Ball & MJG is an American hip hop duo from Memphis, Tennessee. The two rappers met at Ridgeway Middle School in 1984. In 1993, the duo released their debut album Comin' Out Hard. They went on to release On the Outside Looking In (1994), On Top of the World (1995), In Our Lifetime (1999), Space Age 4 Eva (2000), Living Legends (2004), Ridin' High (2007) and Ten Toes Down (2010).
Mario Sentell Giden Mims, known professionally as Yo Gotti, is an American rapper and songwriter. In 1996, Gotti released his debut album Youngsta's On a Come Up under the alias Lil Yo. He went on to release From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game (2000), Self-Explanatory (2001), Life (2003), Back 2 da Basics (2006), Live from the Kitchen (2012), I Am (2013), The Art of Hustle (2016), I Still Am (2017) and Untrapped (2020).
Trap Muzik is the second studio album by American rapper T.I., released on August 19, 2003, through Atlantic Records and his newly founded record label Grand Hustle Records. Due to the poor sales on T.I.'s debut album I'm Serious (2001), T.I. asked for a joint venture deal with Arista Records or he be released from his contract; he was subsequently dropped from the label. In addition to selling 750,000 copies to date, the album sold 121,000 copies in its first week and debuted to number three spot on the Billboard 200, making it 8Ball & MJG's highest charting album to date.

It was originally scheduled for July 2006, under the title Pure American Pimpin', but was eventually confirmed to be titled Ridin High. The album features guest appearances from Three 6 Mafia, Juvenile, Yung Joc, P Diddy, The Notorious B.I.G., Jazze Pha, 112, & Project Pat. Productions will come from Jazze Pha, Sean Dre, Drumma Boy, Lil Jon, DJ Toomp and Timbaland's protégé Nate "Danja" Hills.

West-coast artists E-40 and Mac Mall both make appearances on this album, along with Big Mike – a one-time member of Geto Boys. Nuckle Heads, a newly formed group of 2 female rappers on Suave House, debut on this album. South Circle also make an appearance here. Former 1 of the Girls member Nina Creque also appears on the album.

This album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling 1.8 million copies in the U.S. The song "Drama in My Life" was first heard on the soundtrack album to the 1998 film Woo.
