Membership

The Winnipeg Singers currently consists of 24 singers (6 sopranos, 6 altos, 6 tenors and 6 basses), an accompanist and director Yuri Klaz. [2]

Touring

In 1989, The Winnipeg Singers conducted a three-week tour of Austria and West Germany, serving as choir-in residence at the Classical Music Festival in Eisestadt, Austria. In the spring of 1999, they toured Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Winnipeg Singers performed at the Toronto International Choral Festival in June 2002. In May 2004, the choir performed at the Gala Concert of Podium 2004, the national biennial convention of the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors, held in Winnipeg. The Winnipeg Singers traveled to Taiwan and Japan in July 2005 where the choir was honoured to represent Canada at the 6th Taipei International Choral Festival and the 7th World Symposium on Choral Music in Kyoto. While in Japan, the choir performed in Setagaya, a sister-city of Winnipeg, in Tokyo at the Canadian Embassy and in Kobe for a Symposium sponsored satellite concert. [3]

Canadian Chamber Choir

The Canadian Chamber Choir 's mission is to build community through choral singing. University of Utah Singers

The University of Utah Singers was the premier choral ensemble at the University of Utah until 2010. The ensemble was organized in 2003 by Dr. Brady R. Allred. Composed of approximately 45 voices, the ensemble performed repertoire from a wide range of musical styles and eras. In their short history, UU Singers achieved both national and international acclaim, winning the Grand Prize at the 2005 Florilège Vocal de Tours International Choir Competition in Tours, France, winning the European Grand Prix Choral Competition in Tolosa, Spain in 2006, winning first prize at the 11th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf in 2009, participating in the 19th Festival “Choralies de Vaison-la-Romaine” in France and the 37th Abu Gosh international vocal music festival near Jerusalem. The UU Singers performed in concerts throughout England, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Israel on five international concert tours, and has appeared on French national television at the Nancy International Choir Festival.

James Lee Fankhauser is an American conductor, tenor, and educator who is primarily known for his work within the field of choral music in Canada.

Ruth Louise Watson Henderson is a Canadian composer and pianist. She was the accompanist for the Festival Singers of Canada under Dr. Elmer Iseler for many years, where she developed her ear for composing mixed-choral works. Henderson also accompanied the Toronto Children's Chorus under Jean Ashworth Bartle from its inception in 1978 to 2007 and was music director for Kingsway Lampton United Church in Toronto from 1996 to 2013.

New Dublin Voices, an award-winning chamber choir based in Dublin, Ireland, was founded by conductor Bernie Sherlock in October 2005. Carl Crossin OAM is an Australian choral conductor, educator and composer. He is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the University of Adelaide. He was director of the Elder Conservatorium of Music in the University of Adelaide in 2010-14.

Little Singers of Armenia Armenian childrens choir

Little Singers of Armenia is a children's chorus, consisting of 40 girls aged 8 to 18. The choir is actively performing in Armenia and abroad. It has participated in many international festivals, governmental projects and charity concerts. The founder and artistic director of the choir is Tigran Hekekyan.
