The Year of the Wolf (Finnish : Suden vuosi) is a 2007 Finnish drama film directed by Olli Saarela. [1] It is an unconventional love story about a young and talented student, Sari (Krista Kosonen), suffering from epilepsy, and a middle-aged lecturer Mikko (Kari Heiskanen), who is immersed in his own world in the 18th century poetry.

Värttinä is a Finnish folk music band that started as a project by Sari and Mari Kaasinen in 1983 in the village of Rääkkylä, in Karelia, the southeastern region of Finland. Many transformations have taken place in the band since then. Värttinä shot into fame with the release of their 1991 album Oi Dai. As of 2009, the band consists of three lead female vocalists supported by three acoustic musicians. The vocalists sing in the Karelian dialect of the Finnish language.

Wildeye, also known as Finland 1944, is a 2015 Finnish romantic war drama film directed by Antti Jokinen. It is an adaptation of Finnish author Katja Kettu's bestselling 2011 novel The Midwife (Kätilö) set before and during Lapland War. The film stars Krista Kosonen and Lauri Tilkanen with Pirkka-Pekka Petelius, Leea Klemola, Seppo Pääkkönen, Elina Knihtilä, Tommi Korpela, and Johannes Brotherus in supporting roles. The film tells the story about a love affair between a Lapp midwife and a SS officer set against the backdrop of the Lapland War, which opposed Finnish and German armies in 1944–45. The film won the Best Film and the Best Actress awards at the 2015 Waterloo International Historical Film Festival and the Best Actress award at the 2015 Shanghai International Film Festival.
Kansan Lehti was a social democratic newspaper published in Tampere from 1898 until 1991. The first issue of the paper appeared in December 1898. In the early period it was a handwritten publication and had a socialist political stance. During this period it came out six times per week and sold nearly 10,000 copies. Over time the paper became affiliated with the Social Democratic Party. One of its financial managers was Vihtori Kosonen who began to serve in the post in 1906.

Mikko, formally Mikko Nordic Fine Foods, is a restaurant and catering service in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., United States, specializing in Nordic cuisine. The restaurant was opened in 2018 by Mikko Kosonen, who was previously the executive chef for the Ambassador of Finland for more than 15 years. It is located in a townhouse on R Street NW that Kosonen painted in the bright colors of the Nordic flags.
