Her great grandfather was a jockey-turned-trainer as was her grandfather William Head who was a very successful jockey, trainer, and owner in both flat racing and steeplechase events. Her father, Alec Head, became a successful trainer and breeder and the owner of Haras du Quesnay near Deauville. The eldest of three daughters, her brother Freddy Head was the champion jockey six times in France who now trains horses, and sister Martine oversees the operations at Haras du Quesnay.

Reliance was a French Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Unraced as a two-year-old, Reliance won his first five races as a three-year-old in 1965 including the Prix du Jockey Club, Grand Prix de Paris and Prix Royal Oak. He sustained his only defeat when finishing second to Sea-Bird in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. He was then retired to stud, where he had some success as a sire of winners.
Ragmar was a French Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. As a juvenile he finished second in a well-contested minor event on his debut and was then narrowly beaten in the Critérium de Saint-Cloud. In the following spring he won the Prix Greffulhe and then recorded his biggest success in the Prix du Jockey Club, beating Helissio into fifth place. He was well beaten in his only subsequent race and was retired to stud. He had limited opportunities to prove himself as a sire of flat horses but had some success with his jumpers.
Sunshack is a British-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire who was trained in France and the United States. He showed very good form as a two-year-old in 1993 when he won two of his four races including the Critérium de Saint-Cloud. In the following year he struggled for form before ending his season with a win in the Prix du Conseil de Paris. He reached his peak as a four-year-old in 1995 when he won the Prix Jean de Chaudenay, defeated a world-class field in the Coronation Cup and then stepped up in distance to take the Prix Royal-Oak. His later career was limited by injury and he failed to win again. He stood as a breeding stallion in Japan and France with very little success.
