Thirsty is the fourth studio album by South Korean indie rock artist The Black Skirts. The album was released on 12 February 2019. [1] [2] Thirsty won the best modern rock album award at the 2020 Korean Music Awards. [3]
Thirsty is the second album in the "love trilogy" of The Black Skirts. [4] He expressed that the album contains the most "The Black Skirts-like music" about what people go through and what they can do, and he released the single Queen of Diamonds (섬) as a teaser before the album's release. [5] Some sexual flagrant lyrics in some tracks on the album caused controversy. [6]

Kim Doheon of IZM reviewed "Having reassured everyone with sweet words, he now brings out his hungry desire, saying, "A black heart just comes out of my mouth." Thirsty is a devastated love, a lively grotesque tragedy." [7] Jeonjainhyeong of Music Y described the album as "Just as Joker is more attractive than Batman and Darth Vader is more attractive than Anakin, the scenery shown by Thirsty is a rare sight in Korean music. This is where The Black Skirts talked about the brazen grotesque, and why he does not sink and continues to exert influence in the contemporary music world." [8]

Park Ji-yoon is a South Korean singer, actress, and model. As a teen model, she gained wide exposure after starring in a Haitai biscuit commercial in 1994, and held a minor role in the television drama Dinosaur Teacher that same year. Her debut studio album, Skyblue Dream, was released in 1997. Park's early career under Taewon Entertainment saw the hit singles "Skyblue Dream", "Steal Away", "Precious Love" and "Don't Know Anything", and she was associated with a charming and fresh image.
Kim Dong-ryul is a South Korean singer-songwriter. He composes, arranges, writes lyrics, produces, and performs his own music. He has been active since 1993.
Nell is a South Korean alternative rock band formed in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist, keyboardist and guitarist Kim Jong-wan, lead guitarist Lee Jae-kyung, bass guitarist Lee Jung-hoon and previously drummer Jung Jae-won until his departure from the group in June 2023. The group was named after the film, Nell, that starred Jodie Foster. The band is known for their gloomy and psychedelic sound, and has achieved fame with hits such as "Stay" from Let It Rain, "Thank You" from Walk Through Me, "Good Night" and "Losing Heart" from Healing Process and "Time Walking On Memory" from Separation Anxiety. Their third studio album Healing Process was chosen as one of five best recordings of the year by South Korean critics. Nell's fourth studio album Separation Anxiety was a hit in South Korea, ranking number one in various real-time album charts.
Jo Hyu-il, better known as The Black Skirts (Korean: 검정치마), is an indie rock musician based in South Korea. In 2010, he released his debut album, 201, which won Best Modern Rock Album at the 2010 Korean Music Awards. He has since released the albums, Don't You Worry Baby (2011), Team Baby (2017), Thirsty (2019) and Teen Troubles (2022).

The Monotones is a South Korean rock band. The band formed in 2012 and disbanded in 2018. The band was formed by Cha Seung-woo, who was a member of No Brain and The Moonshiners, and Park Hyeonjoon, who was a member of Pipi Band. Teen Troubles is the fifth studio album by South Korean indie rock artist The Black Skirts. The album was released on 15 September 2022. It is the last album of Black Skirts' "Love Trilogy" following Team Baby and Thirsty. The album won the Best Modern Rock Album at the 2023 Korean Music Awards.
People Who Stay Alone is the sixth and final studio album by South Korean indie rock band Onnine Ibalgwan. The album was released on 1 June 2017. After the album, the band was disbanded, and frontman Lee Seokwon retired from the musician. South Korean singer-songwriter IU featured in the album's track, Everybody Knows the Secret . The album was nominated for best modern rock album at the 2018 Korean Music Awards.
Thornapple is a South Korean indie rock band. The band currently consists of Yoon Seonghyeon, Shim Jaehyeon, Hong Dongkyoon and Bang Joseph. Since their formation in 2009, the band has released three studio albums: I Often Stammer and Forget the Way to Sleep (2010), Strange Weather (이상기후) (2014) and Enlightenment (계몽) (2019).
