Mercury Rev is an American rock band formed in 1989 in Buffalo, New York, with singer/guitarist Jonathan Donahue and guitarist/clarinetist/sound generator operator Sean "Grasshopper" Mackowiak as the only constant members. The band's music has incorporated indie rock, psychedelic rock and American roots, amongst other forms. Mercury Rev have been closely associated with The Flaming Lips, and the two bands have shared historical ties.

Bush Tetras are an American post-punk No Wave band from New York City, formed in 1979. They are best known for the 1980 song "Too Many Creeps", which exemplified the band's sound of "jagged rhythms, slicing guitars, and sniping vocals". Although they did not achieve mainstream success, the Bush Tetras were influential and popular in the Manhattan club scene and college radio in the early 1980s. New York's post-punk revival of the 2000s was accompanied by a resurgence of interest in the genre, with the Tetras' influence heard in many of that scene's bands.

Candy was a Los Angeles-based rock band, featuring future Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and singer-songwriter Kyle Vincent. Original members were Vincent on lead vocals, bassist Jonathan Daniel, drummer John Schubert, and guitarist Geoff Siegel, who departed the group after six months and after a short stint in LA's Bang Bang, later joined the Nymphs. Their music has been described as power pop.
Furnaceface was a Canadian punk indie rock band formed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which was active from 1989 to 2000. The group consisted of vocalist and guitarist Pat Banister, vocalist and bassist Slo' Tom Stewart, and drummer Dave Dudley. In 1993, Furnaceface won the Canadian Music Video Association Award for best independent video for "About to Drown" from Just Buy It., and another one a couple of years later for Best Editing for "How Happy Do You Want to Be?" from This Will Make You Happy.

Developed in the early 1980s in the UK as an outgrowth of gothic rock, ethereal wave was mainly represented by 4AD bands such as Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, and early guitar-driven Dead Can Dance.
Mirabilis is an American neoclassical dark wave musical project formed in 2001 by Dru Allen of This Ascension and Summer Bowman of the Machine in the Garden. Mirabilis uses vocals as the primary instrumentation, crafting original musical compositions and interpreting traditional classical vocal pieces from a number of different periods. The music is melodic and borrows from classical, ethereal, darkwave, and gothic genres. The name Mirabilis is Latin for something that is wonderful, miraculous, or unusual.
Falling You is an American ambient/electronic project based in San Francisco, California, United States. Falling You's instrumental work tends toward dark ambient soundscapes which borders on electronica. Other tracks utilize ethereal female vocals. John Michael Zorko is the primary composer for Falling You. Notable vocalists include Dru Allen, Aimee Page, Jennifer McPeak, Sara Ayers, Krista Tortora, Victoria Lloyd, Suzanne Perry, Amanda Kramer, Shikhee and Erica Mulkey (Unwoman). The band's debut CD, Mercy, in 1998 featured vocals by Jennifer McPeak exclusively. Touch, Human, Faith, Adore, Blush, and the most recent release, Shine, feature vocals by a variety of female artists. As a general rule the lyrics to the songs are written by the vocalist, working in collaboration with Zorko to make a fit for his composition.
Anti-M is a Santa Barbara based mostly electronic rock band. The band had the fortune of working with Ronnie Montrose, who played guitar as a guest on Anti-M's second album, Positively Negative.
Still Pending were an American punk children band, formed in Portland, Oregon, United States, in 2005. The band originally comprising three young musicians, Reed Gulick-Stutz, Grant Ellman, and Ian Rogers. In June 2007, Rogers left the band and was replaced by Andrew Turel in August 2007. It is rumored that the band broke up due to drummer and vocalist Grant Ellman embarking on a Jamaican Patois vocalism and lyric training course, leaving little time for him to perform his band duties because of the intense training schedule. The official website is currently down, and their social media is inactive currently.
Dan Cunneen is an American musician, songwriter, disc jockey, screen printer and graphic designer originally from Portland, Oregon, United States. Cunneen is best known for his drum work with the 1980s Portland, Oregon bands Final Warning and The Obituaries as well as the 1990s Seattle, Washington-based bands Zipgun and Nightcaps. In 2020, Cunneen began recording under the moniker Dan Steely. Cunneen also occasionally plays drums with the Perkins Coie Band, the in house band for the Seattle, Washington-based law firm Perkins Coie.
Faith & Disease was a Seattle-based ethereal wave music project who released their debut CD "Beauty and Bitterness" in 1994. Its core members are Eric Cooley and Dara Rosenwasser.
Sam Rosenthal is an American musician, composer, artist, and novelist. He is the founder and leader of the band Black Tape for a Blue Girl and the Projekt Records record label. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his son and cat. Rosenthal was interviewed in August 2016 for an NPR piece about the DMCA. "It's a really unreasonable expectation," he says, "that I would have the time to chase all day when I should be running a business and making music."
Trance to the Sun (1990–present) is a neo-psychedelic post-punk band originally based out of Santa Barbara, California. The band consists of multi-instrumentalist Ashkelon Sain as the primary songwriter, performer and producer, and has featured three full-time vocalists—Ingrid Blue (1997–present), Dawn Michelle Wagner (1997), and Zoë Alexandra Wakefield (1993–1996). Trance to the Sun recordings have often included guest contributors, and tour line-ups have usually included one or more additional musicians. Currently, the band consists of Ashkelon Sain, Ingrid Luna, and Daniel Henderson, with additional live musician Terry Luna on bass guitar.
