The Prince of Egypt is a 1998 American animated musical drama film produced by DreamWorks Animation and released by DreamWorks Pictures. The first feature film from DreamWorks to be traditionally animated, it is an adaptation of the Book of Exodus and follows the life of Moses from being a prince of Egypt to his ultimate destiny to lead the Jews out of Egypt. Vivek Maddala is a four-time Emmy-winning composer who focuses on writing music for feature films, theater and dance productions, and television. He is known for composing music scores for independent movies such as Kaboom, Highway, and the Peabody-winning American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs, as well as for silent film restorations for Turner Classic Movies, including a 90-minute score for the Greta Garbo film The Mysterious Lady (2002). Additionally, Maddala writes, produces, and performs as a multi-instrumentalist with various recording artists. He is a Sundance Lab Fellow for film composition, and has had work premiere at the Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, and Sundance film festivals. Maddala has received five Daytime Emmy nominations, with four wins, in the category of "Outstanding Music Direction and Composition."
Imperial Dreams is an American drama film written and directed by Malik Vitthal. The film had its world premiere at 2014 Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2014. It won the Audience Award at the festival. The film was released as a Netflix original film on February 3, 2017.
Miwa Matreyek is a director, animator, designer, and performer working in Los Angeles, California. In 2007, Matreyek received her MFA for Experimental Animation and Integrated Media at the California Institute of the Arts. While being a student, she developed her talent and passion for animation and collage. Matreyek collaborated with fellow student and interactive multi-media expert Chi-wang Yang and American singer Anna Oxygen to form a theater company called Cloud Eye Control. Miwa Matreyek blends animation, collage, and performance together in order to present her work of art to the public. She uses her own shadow body, rear-projected animation, and perfect timing in her work. Matreyek won the Student Grand Prize at the Platform Festival for her thesis project performance Dreaming of Lucid Living in 2007. She is known for her performance Myth and Infrastructure (2010) and her short film Lumerence (2012), which its premiere was presented at the reputable TED Global Conference in Oxford, England in July 2010. Matreyek's art have been presented in many conferences, festivals, museums, schools and art centres.
XX is a 2017 American anthology horror film directed by Jovanka Vuckovic, Annie Clark, Roxanne Benjamin and Karyn Kusama. It stars Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool and Christina Kirk. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2017, and was released in a limited release and through video on demand by Magnet Releasing on February 17, 2017.
Peter Burr is a digital and new media artist based in Brooklyn, New York, born August 3, 1980. Having received a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002, Peter specializes in animation and installation. He has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Sundance New Frontier Story Lab Fellowship, a Creative Capital Award, and film/video prizes at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2016, among others. His work has been exhibited at The Zabludowicz Collection, The Institute for Contemporary Art, Richmond, 3-Legged Dog in New York, San Francisco Cinematheque's experimental festival CROSSROADS, Supernova Digital Animation Festival in Denver, Documenta 14 in Athens, and Centre Pompidou in Paris. He was also a touring member of the collective MOBILIVRE-BOOKMOBILE. In 2005, he founded the video label and touring animation roadshow Cartune Xprez. He was an artist-in-residence at MacDowell Colony and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. In 2015, he was named one of the "best unrepresented artists."
