Thomas Ahrenkiel (born 19 October 1967) is a Danish politician who was formerly the head of the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Intelligence Service there.
Ahrenkiel was born on 19 October 1967.
He received a degree as cand politician from the University of Copenhagen. Ahrenkiel was also a member of the Foreign Service, including as a Ministerial Counselor in the Prime Minister's Office and as an Embassy Secretary in Brussels.
In 2005, he became a Knight of Dannebrog and he is a member of the Bilderberg group.
Ahrenkiel is known in the cases of fraud in the Ministry of Defence's Property Agency. He has previously, in 2018, received criticism from the Chamber Advocate, after he in 2016 had participated in a meeting where his then girlfriend and current wife received a salary increase of 1,500 kroner monthly and a lump sum of 75,000 kroner. Before the wage negotiations, however, he had told the Prime Minister's Head of Department Christian Kettel Thomsen, who is the country's top official, about the matter, so he escaped further prosecution in the case as he had allegedly acted in good faith. Ahrenkiel was to leave the Ministry of Defense on 1 September 2020 to take up the position of Danish Ambassador to Berlin. However, in connection with the case of the Defense Intelligence Service, where he is former chief, he was 24.8. exempted from service and repatriated with immediate notice. [3]
The prime minister of Denmark is the head of government in the Kingdom of Denmark comprising the three constituent countries: Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. At the outset of World War II in September 1939, Denmark declared itself neutral. For most of the war, the country was an occupied territory of Germany. The decision to occupy Denmark was taken in Berlin on 17 December 1939. On 9 April 1940, Germany occupied Denmark in Operation Weserübung. The Danish government and king functioned in a relatively normal manner until 29 August 1943, when Germany placed Denmark under direct military occupation, which lasted until the Allied victory on 5 May 1945. Contrary to the situation in other countries under German occupation, most Danish institutions continued to function relatively normally until 1945. Both the Danish government and king remained in the country in an uneasy relationship between a democratic and a totalitarian system until 1943 when the Danish government stepped down in protest against German demands that included instituting the death penalty for sabotage.

The Constitutional Act of the Realm of Denmark, also known as the Constitutional Act of the Kingdom of Denmark, or simply the Constitution, is the constitution of the Kingdom of Denmark, applying equally in the Realm of Denmark: Denmark proper, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Cirkus Arena is a Danish circus that was founded in 1955. Today it is the largest circus in Scandinavia and within the nordic countries. Cirkus Arena's tent is 45 meters in diameter and can accommodate 1,750 spectators. They have several other tents that are rented out. The tour runs from March to September, where the circus visits more than 100 Danish town's and cities. Since 1976 Circus Arena has been led by Benny Berdino-Olsen as director.

The Mink Commission formally the Commission of Inquiry into the Case of the Culling of Mink is a Danish investigative commission set up by a majority in the Folketing in 2020 to investigate The Mink Case ; A case about the culling of all minks in Denmark during the COVID-19 pandemic. It began its work 23 April 2021. The commission consists of national judge Michael Kistrup, who is chairman, as well as law professor Helle Krunke from the University of Copenhagen and lawyer Ole Spiermann from the firm Bruun & Hjejle.
