He made a successful transition from rowing to road cycling after the 2016 Summer Olympics, focussing on the road time trial and winning a medal at the Commonwealth Games. He returned to rowing for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, winning a gold medal in the men's eight. In 2024 he was a cyclor in the Team New Zealand team which successfully defended the America's cup.

Elizabeth Mary Coster is a New Zealand former swimmer, who specialises in backstroke and butterfly events. She helped the New Zealand team to pull off a fourth-place effort and broke a New Zealand record of 4:06.30 in the medley relay at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.
Ben-Rachmiel Labowitch is a New Zealand former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. Since his mother is a New Zealand citizen, Labowitch claims a dual citizenship which allowed him to try out and make the New Zealand Olympic team. Labowitch is also a former member of North Shore Swim Club under his coach Thomas Ensorg, and a graduate of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where he played for the Drury Panthers.
Harold Frederick Thomas was a New Zealand boxer who competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics. He was eliminated in the first round of the welterweight class after losing his fight to Italy's Luciano Fabbroni. Thomas was born in Wellington. He died in Wellington aged 24, less than a year after his appearance at the Olympics. He jumped from a train a few hours after learning about the death of his fiancée.
