Oklahoma City,officially the City of Oklahoma City,and often shortened to OKC,is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The county seat of Oklahoma County,it ranks 20th among United States cities in population,and is the 8th largest city in the Southern United States. The population grew following the 2010 census and reached 681,054 in the 2020 census. The state of Oklahoma has seven electoral votes in the Electoral College,following reapportionment due to the 2020 United States census in which the state neither gained nor lost a seat.
The 2022 United States Senate special election in Oklahoma was held on November 8,2022,to elect a member of the United States Senate for Oklahoma. The election took place concurrently with the regularly scheduled election for Oklahoma's other Senate seat. The candidate filing deadline was between April 13 and 15,2022.
