Thresholds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1959 serving persons with mental illnesses and substance abuse problems in Illinois. [1] Thresholds is the largest community-based mental healthcare provider in Illinois, [2] providing services to more than 7,000 people every year. [3]

Thresholds has over 1,000 employees offering support programs in Chicago, its suburbs, and nine surrounding counties, [4] [5] and its main office is in Ravenswood, Chicago. As of 2023, the organization has been named among the Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces for 10 consecutive years. [6] [7] [8] In 2025 Thresholds was ranked among the Top Workplaces USA following a national survey co-sponsored by Energage and USA TODAY . [9]
