Tim Baltz is an American comedian, actor, and writer. He appeared as a "citizen journalist" on the Comedy Central series The Opposition with Jordan Klepper . [1] He currently stars on The Righteous Gemstones .

Early life

Born in Joliet, Illinois, [1] Baltz graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1999. [2] [3] His mother is French. [4] Baltz graduated from Loyola University Chicago. [5] Before pursuing a career in comedy, Baltz planned on attending graduate school to study French. [6]

Career

Baltz began his training as a comedian at The Second City in Chicago, where he first met Jordan Klepper. [1] In 2011, he performed in the Second City e.t.c.'s 35th revue: Sky's The Limit Weather (Weather Permitting), for which he earned a Joseph Jefferson Award. [7]

He also trained at the iO Theater in Chicago. [8] He regularly appeared on the Comedy Central series Drunk History , and also made appearances on Veep , Better Call Saul , and Parks and Recreation . [1] He also played a realtor on the Seeso series Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ . [9]

With Ted Tremper, he co-created Shrink , a comedy TV series for which the pilot originally premiered at the New York Television Festival, where it won "Best Comedy Pilot" and the "Critics Award". [10] In 2016, it was ordered to be made into a full series by NBC, and premiered on Seeso in March 2017. Baltz stars in the series as David Tracey, a recent graduate from medical school who, after failing to obtain a residency, decides to become a therapist instead. [10] [11]

Baltz has also appeared on the podcast Comedy Bang! Bang! many times as an improviser, and hosts the call-in advice podcast Hey Randy! on CBB Presents, as his character Randy Snutz.

Personal life

Baltz married fellow actress/comedian Lily Sullivan in February 2022. [12]

Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ is an American comedy series on the Seeso comedy subscription streaming service. The series, created by Kulap Vilaysack, is a semi-scripted parody of the reality television franchise Million Dollar Listing. Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ previewed its pilot episode on February 20, 2016 and officially premiered on March 17, 2016, and the series' second season premiered in the fall of 2016. On December 12, 2016, Seeso renewed the series for a third and fourth season. On August 9, 2017, Seeso announced the shutdown of its service by the end of the year, leaving Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ without a home. On July 15, 2019, it was reported that the previously unaired fourth season would air on Pluto TV. As of 2023 the series is no longer available on Pluto.TV.
