The Timboon Railway Shed Distillery is a producer of single malt Australian whisky and liqueurs in Timboon, Victoria, Australia. The distillery takes its name from its location in the goods shed at the terminus of the former Timboon railway line.
The distillery was opened by the owners of Timboon Fine Ice Cream, whose owners were hoping to diversify their products into year-round appeal, rather than just over summer as was the case with their ice cream. The distillery produced its first whisky in 2007. [1] The whisky is produced from malted barley, which is brewed off-site by the Otway Estate microbrewery, then distilled at the Railway Shed in a 600-litre copper still, custom made near Hobart. The whisky is then matured in small port casks. [2]
The town of Timboon has a local history of distilling, with an illegal still operator named Tom Delaney said to have been producing 100 gallons of "Mountain Dew" whisky a week during the 1890s, before being arrested.
The distillery's main product is the Timboon Single Malt, but other seasonal products include Irish cream, nocino, vodka, limoncello and apple liqueur.
Timboon Single Malt received a bronze medal at the Australian Malt Whisky Awards in 2011. [3]

Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains are used for different varieties, including barley, corn, rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, which are typically made of charred white oak. Uncharred white oak casks previously used for the aging of port, rum or sherry are also sometimes used.
Single malt Scotch refers to single malt whisky made in Scotland. To qualify for this category, a whisky must have been distilled at a single distillery using a pot still distillation process and made from a mash of malted barley. Therefore, a single malt means that the whisky has not been blended elsewhere with whisky from other distilleries. As with any Scotch whisky, a single malt Scotch must be distilled in Scotland and matured in oak casks in Scotland for at least three years, although most single malts are matured longer.
Irish whiskey is whiskey made on the island of Ireland. The word 'whiskey' comes from the Irish uisce beatha, meaning water of life. Irish whiskey was once the most popular spirit in the world, though a long period of decline from the late 19th century onwards greatly damaged the industry, so much so that although Ireland boasted at least 28 distilleries in the 1890s, by 1966 this number had fallen to just two, and by 1972 the remaining distilleries, Bushmills Distillery and Old Midleton Distillery, were owned by just one company, Irish Distillers.

Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. is a private, American family-owned and operated distillery founded in 1935 and headquartered in Bardstown, Kentucky, that produces and markets the Heaven Hill brand of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and a variety of other distilled spirits. Its current distillery facility, called the Heaven Hill Bernheim distillery, is in Louisville, Kentucky. Timboon is a town in the Western District of Victoria, Australia. The town is in the Shire of Corangamite local government area, and is approximately 213 kilometres (132 mi) south-west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2001 census, Timboon had a population of 787. At the 2006 census, Timboon had a population of 871. During the 2016 census Timboon had a population of 1,202.
Glenglassaugh distillery is a malt scotch whisky distillery which restarted production in November 2008 after being acquired by an independent investment group. Following a complete refurbishment by the new owners the distillery was re-opened on 24 November 2008 by the First Minister for Scotland Alex Salmond.
German whisky is a distilled beverage produced in Germany made from grains traditionally associated with the production of whisky. Benjamin Prichard's Tennessee Whiskey is a brand of Tennessee whiskey produced in the small community of Kelso, Tennessee in the United States. Although it is produced by one of only two distilleries operating in Lincoln County – and its unaged variation is named Lincoln County Lightning – Prichard's is not produced using the Lincoln County Process. Due to a special grandfathering exemption under a Tennessee law enacted in 2013, the Prichard's distillery in Kelso is the only producer allowed to label its product as "Tennessee Whiskey" without using this process. Prichard's whiskey is produced entirely using pot stills rather than column stills.

Kyrö Distillery Company is a Finnish rye distillery founded in a sauna in 2012. Kyrö uses 100 percent Finnish rye to produce rye gin and rye whisky. In 2015, Kyrö Napue Gin, formerly known as Napue, won the Best Gin for Gin & Tonic category in the International Wine and Spirit competition. In August 2020 Kyrö launched its rye whisky, Kyrö Malt. To support health care workers during COVID-19, Kyrö started producing hand sanitizer. Through the sales of hand sanitizer, the company managed to avoid layoffs, and they have continued in production.
The Reefton Distilling Co. is a distillery founded in 2017 in Reefton, in the West Coast region of New Zealand. It specialises in gin, including one named "Little Biddy" after famed West Coast gold miner Bridget Goodwin.
