Tim Curran (born August 14, 1977) is a musician, retired professional surfer and a spokesperson for the Surfrider Foundation. During his successful surfing career, he was one of the best surfers on the World Championship Tour, and was consistently in contention for the world championship. Despite his success and popularity, he remained one of the most affable and well-regarded surfers on the tour, a trait he attributed to his "Christian faith and belief in God".
Curran was raised and still resides near Oxnard, California. He was born in the San Fernando Valley, but spent some of his childhood in the southern Riverside County city of Temecula. Temecula is roughly an hour from the ocean, so at age 5 his father started driving him to the beach every weekend and taught him to surf. [1] He obtained his first sponsorship at age eleven from McCrystal Surfboards and was competing as a professional surfer by age sixteen.
He is considered to be the pioneer of surfing's "Aerial Revolution" of the late 1990s[ citation needed ], and is famous for completing a full rotation, upside-down flip in two-foot surf at Rocky Point in Hawaii during winter of 2005. This popular aerial achievement has become known worldwide as simply "The Flip".
Curran is also featured on Eisley's Final Noise E.P., released in 2006.
Curran has published three albums and one EP so far: Citsusa E.P. (2004), and the full album Word of Mouth (2007). The album was re-released in 2008 when Curran signed with Adeline Records, his new recording label, and two music videos were shot for the songs "Save" and "Blue Eyes". The song "Daylights Comin'" was featured in the second episode of the 2011 TV series Charlie's Angels. His second album, Verses, was released on March 9, 2010, and his latest album "Options" released on May 31, 2011.

Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar", which was also the title of his second studio album.

Bodyboarding is a water sport in which the surfer rides a bodyboard on the crest, face, and curl of a wave which is carrying the surfer towards the shore. Bodyboarding is also referred to as Boogieboarding due to the invention of the "Boogie Board" by Tom Morey in 1971.The average bodyboard consists of a short, rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. Bodyboarders typically use swim fins for additional propulsion and control while riding a breaking wave.

Johnson is known primarily for his work in the soft rock and acoustic pop genres. In 2001, he achieved commercial success after the release of his debut album, Brushfire Fairytales. Johnson has reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart with his albums Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George in 2006, Sleep Through the Static in 2008, To the Sea in 2010 and From Here to Now to You in 2013. His album In Between Dreams peaked at number two on the chart in 2005 and again in 2013.

Surf's Up is a 2007 American computer-animated mockumentary comedy film directed by Ash Brannon and Chris Buck. It features the voices of Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder, Mario Cantone, James Woods, and Diedrich Bader. In production since 2002 at Sony Pictures Animation, it was the studio's second theatrical feature film. The film premiered in the United States on June 8, 2007, and was distributed by Columbia Pictures. It is a parody of surfing documentaries, such as The Endless Summer and Riding Giants, with parts of the plot parodying North Shore. Real-life surfers Kelly Slater and Rob Machado have vignettes as their penguin surfer counterparts. To obtain the desired hand-held documentary feel, the film's animation team motion-captured a physical camera operator's moves.

He is the first Hawaii-born surfer to win back-to-back world titles since the late Andy Irons and one of five to ever achieve the feat.

Laura Louise "Lakey" Peterson is an American professional surfer. She has been ranked as high as #1 by the World Surf League, the highest professional level of women's surfing, and #6 on the ASP Women's World Ranking. In 2009, Peterson landed the first-ever aerial in NSSA women's competition history and won the title.
Kolohe Andino is an American surfer. Andino began surfing at a young age and holds the record for winning the most National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) titles of any male competitor, becoming the youngest to win one at age 15 in 2009. His breakthrough happened in 2011 after he won the Vans Pier Classic and the ASP 6-Star Quiksilver Brazil Open of Surfing. In 2019, Andino qualified to represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics in surfing.
Gabriel Medina Pinto Ferreira is a Brazilian professional surfer, also the 2014 and 2018 WSL World Champion. Medina joined the world's elite of the World Surf League Tour in 2011, and in his rookie year he finished within the top 12 of the ASP World Tour at the age of 17. In March 2014 he won the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast. Media sources credit him as being the second person to have executed a maneuver called the "Backflip". Medina also became the first person ever to land this move in competition.
Barron Mamiya is a junior professional surfer from Hawaii. He first competed in the Junior World Surf League in 2012 at age 11 and won the Men's Pro Junior Vans US Open of Surfing in 2018.
