Timothy Kneeland "Timo" Ellis is a multi-instrumentalist and record producer from New York City, and is frontman vocalist for the band Netherlands. [1] [2]

In 1997 Ellis and Sean Lennon joined Cibo Matto. As a quartet (Yuka Honda, Miho Hatori, Ellis, Lennon) Cibo Matto released an EP, Super Relax (1997) and their second album Stereo ★ Type A (1999). In 2001, Ellis released his first solo EP, The Enchanted Forest of Timo Ellis.

Super Relax is an EP by Cibo Matto released in 1997. Four of the nine tracks are versions of the song "Sugar Water" from the group's debut album, Viva! La Woman, and "Spoon" would later appear on Stereo Type A. Two of the remaining songs are covers, "BBQ" is a live recording, and "Crumbs" originally appeared on the band's first release, a 1995 self-titled EP. Super Relax was also the first release to feature new members Sean Lennon and Timo Ellis.

Butter 08 was a short-lived musical side-project whose members consisted of Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, Russell Simins of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Rick Lee of Skeleton Key and director Mike Mills. The band released just one album, Butter, in 1996 on Beastie Boys' now defunct Grand Royal record label. The album features guest performances by future Cibo Matto members Timo Ellis and Sean Lennon as well as a performance by filmmaker Evan Bernard who directed music videos for several Grand Royal artists as well as for Cibo Matto and the Blues Explosion.

Dopo Yume is an American rock band from New York City. Founded in 1998 by Jordan Galland, Dopo Yume's lineup rotated regularly. The band's name is derived from the Italian word for "after" (dopo) and the Japanese translation for "dream" (yume).

Butter is the debut album by Butter 08, a band consisting of Cibo Matto leaders Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion drummer Russell Simins, filmmaker Mike Mills, and Skeleton Key percussionist Rick Lee. The album was released in 1996 by the Beastie Boys's label Grand Royal.
