Tin Soldier is an American 2025 action thriller film directed by Brad Furman, written by Furman, Jess Fuerst, and Pablo Fenjves. It stars Scott Eastwood, John Leguizamo, Nora Arnezeder, Jamie Foxx, and Robert De Niro.
In May 2022, it was announced that Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, Scott Eastwood, John Leguizamo, and Shamier Anderson were cast in the film. [3] [4] The following month, it was reported that Rita Ora, Nora Arnezeder, Saïd Taghmaoui and Joey Bicicchi were added to the cast. [5] On November 2, 2022, it was revealed that Chris Hajian would compose the score for the film. [6]
Filming began in Thessaloniki in May 2022 and in Drama in June 2022, with Tim Maurice-Jones serving as the cinematographer. [7]
In May 2025, Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired North American distribution rights to the film. [8] It was released as a limited release in Russia on 29 May 2025. [9] The film was released in the UK through Amazon MGM Studios on July 23, 2025, [10] and in the United States on September 12, 2025. A digital release is set to follow on 30 September. [11]
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes , 9% of 11 critics' reviews are positive. [12]
Leslie Felperin of The Guardian gave the film a score of two out of five, writing "this action thriller is a mangled, dreary, unlovely mess and so much less than the sum of its parts – despite relatively blameless supporting turns from Robert De Niro and John Leguizamo". [10]
