Martina Maria Anna Antonia "Tineke" Bartels-de Vries (born 6 February 1951 in Eindhoven) is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal in the Team Dressage Event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. She did so alongside Annemarie Sanders, Ellen Bontje, and Anky van Grunsven. In the Individual Competition she finished in fifteenth position.
Four years later Bartels repeated that feat, this time with Van Grunsven and the couple Gonnelien and Sven Rothenberger. She competed in four Summer Olympics for her native country, starting in 1984. Her daughter Imke competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
Bartels was heavily injured on 7 November 2006 after she fell off her horse during a training. She fell with her head against a tree and will need a long time to recover. It is unsure whether she can continue her career.

The Netherlands competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. Dutch athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games since its official debut in 1908. Netherlands, however, boycotted the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, because of the Soviet invasion of Hungary. The Netherlands National Olympic Committee sent a total of 210 athletes to the Games, 134 men and 76 women, to compete in 21 sports. Baseball, field hockey, and men's volleyball were the only team-based sports in which the Netherlands had its representation at these Games. There was only a single competitor in women's fencing.
The team dressage event, part of the equestrian program at the 2004 Summer Olympics, used the results of the first round of the individual dressage to award rankings. That round was held on 20 August and 21 August 2004 at the Olympic Equestrian Centre on the outskirts of Markópoulo, in the Attica region of Greece. Like all other equestrian events, the dressage competition was mixed gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 10 teams, each consisting of four horse and rider pairs, entered the contest.
Theodora Elisabeth Gerarda "Anky" van Grunsven is a Dutch dressage champion who is the only rider to record three successive Olympic wins in the same event. Along with her Olympic successes, she has won numerous medals at the World Equestrian Games (WEG), and is the only rider to have competed at every WEG since they began in 1990. Between 1990 and 2006, she competed at the Games in dressage, but in 2010 she was named as part of the Dutch reining team, marking a major change in discipline.

Jacoba ("Coby") Maria Jozina van Baalen-Dorresteijn is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal in the Team Dressage event at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She did so alongside Anky van Grunsven, Ellen Bontje, and Arjen Teeuwissen. In the Individual Competition Van Baalen finished in fifth position. Her daughter Marlies van Baalen is also an Olympic equestrian. Van Baalen competed in the Olympics with a KWPN stallion called Ferro, also known as Olympic Ferro.
Petronella Theodora Maria "Ellen" Bontje is an equestrian from The Netherlands, who won the silver medal in the Team Dressage Event at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. She did so alongside Anky van Grunsven, Coby van Baalen, and Arjen Teeuwissen. In the individual competition Bontje finished in sixth position.
Annemarie Sanders-Keijzer is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal in the Team Dressage Event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. She did so alongside Tineke Bartels, Ellen Bontje, and Anky van Grunsven. In the individual competition Sanders finished in 40th position. She competed in three Summer Olympics for her native country, starting in 1984.
Gonnelien Rothenberger is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who was born as Gonneke Antoinette Arnolda Johanna Adriana Robertine Gordijn. She is married to German equestrian Sven Rothenberger, with whom she won the silver medal in the Team Dressage Event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia for Holland, alongside Anky van Grunsven and Tineke Bartels. In the Individual Competition she finished in sixteenth position.
Imke Anne Marian Schellekens-Bartels is an equestrian from the Netherlands, who competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece and at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She was the first reserve for the Dutch team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom. Her mother Tineke was also a competitor in dressage and competed at several Olympic Games between 1984 and 1996.
Marlies Anne van Baalen is a Dutch Dressage equestrian. She is Coby van Baalen's daughter.
The Netherlands competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, People's Republic of China. This was announced in an official statement on the NOC*NSF website. In the statement they named the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games as a highlight in sports to which a lot of sportspeople, coaches and the Dutch sports fans would look forward. The Netherlands aimed for a top 10 nations ranking in the Olympics as well as a top 25 ranking in the Paralympics; they ended up ranking 12th at the Games.

Dutch athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games since their official debut in 1908, with the exception of the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, which the Netherlands boycotted because of the Soviet invasion of Hungary. The Netherlands National Olympic Committee sent the nation's smallest delegation to the Games since 1988. A total of 175 athletes, 95 men and 80 women, competed in 18 sports.
Gestion Bonfire, or Bonfire for short, was an Oldenburg gelding that competed in dressage with Dutch rider Anky van Grunsven. Between 1991 and 2000, the pair competed in multiple national and international championships, including three Olympic Games and two World Equestrian Games. They won one gold medal and four silver medals at the Olympics and one gold and three silvers at the World Equestrian Games. Although known for having a hot temperament, Bonfire mellowed as he aged, becoming one of Van Grunsven's best horses – until she found his replacement, Salinero, she did not think she would ever find a horse to match Bonfire's talent. A statue of Bonfire stands in Van Grunsven's home town of Erp.
During the Parade of Nations portion of the 2000 Summer Olympics opening ceremony, athletes from each country participating in the Olympics paraded in the arena, preceded by their flag. The flag was borne by a sportsperson from that country chosen either by the National Olympic Committee or by the athletes themselves to represent their country.
Sjef Janssen is the Dutch national Olympic team dressage coach and spouse of Anky van Grunsven. He won a bronze medal in team dressage at the 1991 European Dressage Championships in Donaueschingen, Germany.
Morgan Barbançon Mestre is a French and Spanish Olympic dressage rider. Representing Spain, she competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where she finished 7th in team competition and 23rd in the individual competition.
Quzandria Nur Dato' Mahamad Fathil is a Malaysian equestrian rider. Nur competed at three Asian Games in Bangkok 1998, Doha 2006 and Guangzhou 2010. In 1998, she was a member of the silver winning Malaysian team. In 2006 she won team silver and in 2010, she won individual silver and team bronze. Nur also competed at three South East Asian Games. In 2001 she won team gold and individual silver and a golden team medal and individual silver in 2007. She won individual gold and team gold with the Malaysian team in 2017.
Aleksandra Dmitriyevna Maksakova is a Russian dressage rider. She competed at the European Championships for Juniors, Young Riders and U25 from 2014 through 2020. Maksakova competed for the Russian dressage team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
