Tingvatn is the administrative centre of Hægebostad municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the river Lygna, just south of the lake Lygne. The village of Eiken lies about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north and Snartemo lies about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) to the south. The small village of Tingvatn has about 100 residents in it including the southern area which is also known as Birkeland. [2]

Rosskreppfjorden is a lake in Norway. The 29.51-square-kilometre (11.39 sq mi) lake lies on the border between the municipalities of Valle and Sirdal. The lake is part of the Kvina river system and has a hydroelectric power plant in a dam on the south end of the lake. The dam keeps the lake at an elevation of about 929 to 890 metres above sea level.
Gravatnet is a lake in the municipality of Sirdal in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 5.33-square-kilometre (2.06 sq mi) lake is located about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north of the small village of Lunde. The lake lies immediately south of the lake Valevatn, which flows out into Gravatnet. The water in Gravatnet is stopped by a dam on the south side. The water is regulated at an elevation of 660 metres (2,170 ft) and it flows out through the small river Gravassåni which is a tributary of the big river Sira.
Lygne is a lake in the municipality of Hægebostad in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 7.56-square-kilometre (2.92 sq mi) lake is part of the river Lygna. The lake begins near the village of Eiken in the north and stretches about 10.4 kilometres (6.5 mi) to the south to the village of Tingvatn. Part of the western shore has fairly steep cliffs overlooking the lake, but the rest of the shoreline is relatively flat with houses and roads.

Bjæring was a legendary king or chieftain who is identified as the one who is buried in the Bjærum grave (Bjærumfunnet) in Hægebostad, Agder, Norway. According to local tradition, he presided over the local court on Tingvatn, and he is said to have embarked on a journey to find a queen, travelling over the river Lygna and to Eikeland where there are also old barrows. The grave has been dated to the Migration Period between AD 200 and 550.
Lyngdalen is a valley in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 60-kilometre (37 mi) long valley runs north-south through the municipalities of Hægebostad and Lyngdal. The valley follows the river Lygna from the mountain plateaus in northern Hægebostad to the Lyngdalsfjorden, just south of the town of Lyngdal. The villages of Kvås, Snartemo, and Tingvatn are all located in the valley. The long, narrow lake Lygne is also located in the valley.
Alleen or Lyngdal is a town which is the administrative centre of the municipal of Lyngdal in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It lies along the east side of the river Lygna, just north of the head of the Rosfjorden and northeast of the head of the Lyngdalsfjorden. The small villages of Skomrak and Svenevik both lie just south of the town and the small farming area of Hæåk lies about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the northwest. On 1 January 2001, the municipal government declared the urban area of Alleen to be a town called Lyngdal. Both names are used to refer to the urban area.

Lygna or Lyngdalselva is a river in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 82.2-kilometre (51.1 mi) river runs from the mountains in northern Hægebostad municipality, through the Lyngdalen valley to the municipality of Lyngdal to its mouth at Alleen, where it runs into Lyngdalsfjorden. Lygna has a discharge of 35.9 cubic metres per second (1,270 cu ft/s), and a drainage basin covering 664.3 square kilometres (256.5 sq mi). The river is called the Storåni north of the lake Lygne. The river passes the villages of Tingvatn, Snartemo, and Kvås as well as the town of Lyngdal.
Gillsvannet or Gjelsvannet is a freshwater lake in the municipality of Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The 1.05-square-kilometre (260-acre) lake is located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of downtown Kristiansand, along to County Road 452. The lake lies about 300 metres (980 ft) west of the Topdalsfjorden, at an elevation of about 1 metre above sea level. There is a practice range for kayaking on the lake as well as many areas used for swimming during the summer season. The Gimlekollen district lies on the southern shore of the lake and the village of Justvik lies just north of the lake.

Hægebostad Church is a parish church in Hægebostad municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Snartemo. The church is part of the Hægebostad parish in the Lister deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden, octagonal church was built in 1844 by using plans drawn up by the parish priest Nils Christian Hald with some help from the national architect Christian H. Grosch. The church seats about 450 people.
