The Tintinara Tennis Club was established in 1919 in Tintinara, South Australia by Edward B. Northcott and Fanny and Tilly Williams. Its original membership was about 40.
The facilities once consisted of two courts that were used for many years. In the summer of 1951-52, four new courts were introduced. Since then, more courts have been added, and a new clubhouse was completed in 1966. [1] As of May 2010, the club has 6 courts and the clubhouse.

The Ainslie Tennis Club was one of the first tennis clubs established in Canberra. At 3pm on Saturday 21 April 1928 the club’s patron, John Goodwin, officially opened the club and served the first ball. Initial work was done using picks, shovels, horse and dray. Opened in 1901, the building was designed by architect Whitney Warren of Warren and Wetmore as the sixth clubhouse of the New York Yacht Club (NYYC). The clubhouse is part of Clubhouse Row, a concentration of clubhouses on 44th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The building is a New York City designated landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark.
