The Tirana plain is a plain in Central Albania, part of the Western Lowlands, where its main populated center is the capital city of Tirana. [1]

In geography, a plain is a flat, sweeping landmass that generally does not change much in elevation. Plains occur as lowlands along the bottoms of valleys or on the doorsteps of mountains, as coastal plains, and as plateaus or uplands.

Nonetheless, the largest and widest plain, measured by area, is the plain of Myzeqe.

Ishëm (river) river in Albania

The Ishëm is a river in western Albania, which brings water to the area north of the Albanian capital, Tirana. It forms part of a watercourse (Tiranë-Gjole-Ishëm), but only the lower third of the watercourse is known as the Ishëm. The Ishëm proper is formed at the confluence of the rivers Gjole and Zezë, a few km northwest of Fushë-Krujë. It flows into the Adriatic Sea near the town Ishëm. The length of the watercourse is recorded in different sources as between 74 and 79 km.

The season began on 18 September 1999 and concluded on 7 June 2000. Tirana began the season as defending champions 1998–99 season and Shqiponja was the only team promoted from the Albanian Second Division as the league was reduced from 16 teams to 14.

St. Pauls Cathedral, Tirana cultural Monument in Albania

St Paul's Cathedral is a cathedral in Tirana, Albania. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tiranë-Durrës. The stained glass window to the left of the front door features Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa. Also a statue of Mother Teresa can be found at the entrance of the cathedral. It is a modern-looking building and does not resemble a traditional church.

Saint Procopius Church of Tirana is an orthodox church on the outskirts of Tirana, Albania. It was one of only two orthodox churches that existed in the city before World War II, the other one being the 19th century Evangelismos Church, which was demolished in 1967.
