Gina del Rosario Selmo is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the bronze medal with the women's national team at the 2007 Panamerican Cup in Colima, Mexico. Later that year, she also won the bronze medal at the NORCECA Championship in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Gina is the twin sister of Ginnette Del Rosario.

Amaury Apolinar Filion Fernández is a Dominican former professional basketball player. A left-handed 2.06 m forward-center, Filion debuted in 1997 with Mauricio Báez, a club of Santo Domingo. He then moved to the United States, where he played at Artesia High School in Lakewood, California before going back to the Dominican Republic. Throughout his 20-year professional career, Filion has played in the Dominican Republic, France, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela; in 2007 he was named the LIDOBA Finals MVP. A long-time member of the Dominican national team, he won the silver medal at the 2003 Pan American Games and the gold medal at the 2004 Centrobasket.

Jaime Peterson is a Dominican-American former professional basketball player. A 2.06 m forward-center, he was born in New York City to Dominican parents. After playing for three different high schools, including a postgraduate year at Maine Central Institute, Peterson played two seasons in the junior college circuit with Champlain College in Vermont before playing in the NCAA Division I with the Pittsburgh Panthers. He went undrafted in the 1995 NBA draft, and he started his professional career in France. In 2003 he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Liga Española de Baloncesto, the second tier of Spanish basketball. He played for the Dominican Republic national team from 1995 to 2005, and he won the silver medal at the 1995 and 2003 editions of Centrobasket.

The Titanes de Morovis were a professional basketball team from Morovis, Puerto Rico, which played in the country's top pro basketball league, the BSN. They won their only national championship in 1987, defeating the 1986 champions Polluelos de Aibonito, 4 games to 3.
