Todd Marshall McShay (born March 22, 1977) is an American football television analyst and commentator. [1]
McShay attended North Shore Christian School in Lynn, Massachusetts and then Swampscott High School in Swampscott, Massachusetts, where he played quarterback for the Big Blue, [2] and graduated in 1995. [3]
He then attended the University of Richmond, where he was a walk-on for the Spiders in 1995 and served as a scout-team quarterback [4] before sustaining a back injury that ended his college career.
He graduated from Richmond in 1999 with a B.A. from the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. [5]
McShay had worked as an undergraduate team equipment manager at the University of Richmond before landing an internship with former NFL scout Gary Horton in 1998. Following graduation, McShay worked full-time for "The War Room", (1999–2006) a start-up publication created by Horton eventually bought by ESPN and renamed "Scouts Inc." [6]
He joined ESPN in 2006 as a football analyst, providing in-depth scouting information on college football players across the country. He makes regular appearances on a number of ESPN programs, including ESPNU Coaches Spotlight, SportsCenter , and ESPN Radio focusing on the NFL Draft. He is often featured alongside ESPN college football analyst Mel Kiper, Jr. [7]
On September 7, 2021, McShay announced he was taking a break from ESPN "to focus on my health and my family". This came three days after an unsteady performance while working as a sideline reporter on an ESPN college football broadcast, during which viewers expressed concern on social media about his well-being during an on-air segment. [8] McShay returned to on-air work with ESPN on October 27, 2021. [9] He was laid off on June 30, 2023. [10]
In the fall of 2024, McShay joined the Ringer as a full time host of his own eponymous podcast, the McShay Show. McShay had previously been a frequent guest on other podcasts at the Ringer, including the Ryen Russillo Podcast with Ryen Russillo. [11]
McShay is married to Lauren "Lo" (Sullivan) McShay, a Boston University graduate and current owner of LoLo Event Design in Boston. [12] [13] [14]
Scott Van Pelt is an American sportscaster and sports talk show host employed by ESPN. He is a long time anchor of key editions of SportsCenter on ESPN, served as the co-host of SVP & Russillo alongside Ryen Russillo on ESPN Radio, and hosts various major golf events for the network. For the 2023–24 NFL season, Van Pelt took over as host of Monday Night Countdown.

William John Simmons III is an American podcaster, sportswriter, and cultural critic who is the founder and CEO of the sports and pop culture website The Ringer. Simmons first gained attention with his website as "The Boston Sports Guy" and was recruited by ESPN in 2001, where he eventually operated the website Grantland and worked until 2015. Mel Kiper Jr. is an analyst covering American football for ESPN. Kiper has appeared on ESPN's annual NFL draft coverage since 1984. He has been widely credited for establishing mock drafting and is regarded as one of the first draftniks alongside Joel Buchsbaum.

Bryant McFadden is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). A member of the famed Class of 1983, he played for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers and is largely considered a draft bust. Blackledge is a college football television broadcaster, working for ABC Sports from 1994 through 1998, for CBS Sports from 1999 to 2005, ESPN from 2006 through January 2023, and NBC since February 2023.
