Tom Patti is an American businessman and politician who is a member of the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors. As an amateur boxer, Patti was training partners with Mike Tyson. [1] After the death of Cus D'Amato, Patti became Tyson's manager and coach. [2] [3] He was a Republican candidate in the 2022 election in California's 9th congressional district.
Born 1963 in New York, Patti moved to Stockton, California. After graduating from high school, he attended Delta College where in 2015 he became a member of the Delta College Foundation board, a non-profit organization with the purpose of creating opportunities for local students to get an expanded education.
Beginning in 1982, Patti, along with Mike Tyson, was mentored by boxing manager-trainer Cus D'Amato. In 2001, Patti returned to California.
On November 8, 2016, Patti became the County Supervisor of District 3 in San Joaquin County, where he has been a proponent for solving homelessness, fighting crime, and lowering taxes. [4]
Patti is a member of the Child Abuse Prevention Council. [5] [6]
In 2017, Patti, together with Oleg Maltsev, wrote the book Non-compromised Pendulum about the style of Cus D'Amato. Patti said the book was a tribute to the memory of D'Amato. [7] [8]
In 2022, Patti entered the race for U.S. Congress in California's 9th congressional district. He advanced from the top two primary in June 2022 and later lost to incumbent Democrat Josh Harder in the November general election. [9] [10]

Constantine "Cus" D'Amato was an American boxing manager and trainer who handled the careers of Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson, and José Torres, all of whom went on to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Several successful boxing trainers, including Teddy Atlas and Kevin Rooney, were tutored by D'Amato. He was a proponent of the peek-a-boo style of boxing, in which the fighter holds his gloves close to his cheeks and pulls his arms tight against his torso, which was criticized by some because it was believed that an efficient attack could not be launched from it.

Connie Marie Conway is an American retired politician who served as the U.S. representative for California's 22nd congressional district from 2022 to 2023. She was a member of the California State Assembly from 2008 to 2014. Before that, Conway was a member of the board of supervisors for Tulare County from 2001 until 2008. A member of the Democratic Party, he defeated Republican incumbent Jeff Denham in the 2018 election by five points. In 2020, he was reelected by a significantly larger margin than in 2018. He won reelection to California's new 9th congressional district, created through the 2020 redistricting process, which includes the majority of San Joaquin County.
