Tom Ryan is a lacrosse coach and former professional player. He is currently an assistant collegiate coach at St. Lawrence University. Ryan is the former head coach of the Boston Blazers of the National Lacrosse League.

Playing career

Ryan played his high school ball at Canton Central in NY. Ryan attended Bowdoin College where he was an All-American attackman. He amassed 97-points in his senior year to become the leading scorer in school history. [1]

Ryan played in the National Lacrosse League where he was known as the "Dude" due to his long dreadlocked hair. [2] He scored 202 total career points (82 goals and 120 assists) while playing for the Boston Blazers, Baltimore Thunder and the Philadelphia Wings. In addition, he played in the Heritage Cup for Team USA in 2002.

Ryan played in Major League Lacrosse's inaugural season in 2001 with the New Jersey Pride.

Ryan's playing career was cut short by a series of concussions. [3]

Coaching career

Ryan was awarded IMLCA Assistant Coach of the Year in DIII for his role in leading the St. Lawrence University team to a 18-3 record and NCAA Final Four appearance.

Ryan was Head Coach of the U.S. Indoor Lacrosse team for both the 2007 & 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships. [4] [5]

Ryan has served as a coach for the women's lacrosse teams at Towson University and Loyola College. In addition, he has coached the men's lacrosse team at Connecticut College and Mount Ida College. [1]

On May 9, 2007, the NLL announced that an expansion franchise had been granted to the city of Boston, and that Ryan had been named head coach. [6] The team, which was named the Boston Blazers, was scheduled to begin play during the 2008 NLL season, but after a labour dispute that saw the season temporarily cancelled, the Blazers opted to sit out the 2008 season and begin play in 2009. [7] Ryan was dismissed as the head coach of the Blazers on December 23, 2010.

The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the NLL currently has fourteen teams: nine in the United States and five in Canada. The Knighthawks were previously members of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League from 1995 to 1997. They were members of the NLL since the league's inaugural 1998 season.

Tracey Kelusky Canadian lacrosse player and coach

Tracey Kelusky is a Canadian former lacrosse player and current head coach of Panther City LC. Kelusky played for the Columbus Landsharks, Montreal Express, Calgary Roughnecks, Buffalo Bandits and Philadelphia Wings. While with the Roughnecks, Kelusky was named captain and lead them to titles in 2004 and 2009.

Dan Dawson is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League, Brampton Excelsiors (MSL) of Major Series Lacrosse, and is currently a free agent in Major League Lacrosse. Dawson ranks 3rd on the all-time NLL points list as of the end of the 2020 season. He is a 7 time NLL All Pro selection. As a professional, he is a 7 time Mann Cup Canadian box lacrosse champion, and a 1 time Major League Lacrosse (field) champion (2009 Toronto Nationals. Representing Canada, Dawson has won two World Indoor Lacrosse Championship titles and was a finalist in the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship. Dawson has won two Champion's Cups as a member of the Rochester Knighthawks in 2013 and 2014.

Ryan Powell is a four-time All-American lacrosse player at Syracuse University and was on the US national team roster in 2006 and 2010.

Casey Powell is an American former college and professional lacrosse player from West Carthage, New York. In 1998, he graduated from Syracuse University, where he was a four-time USILA All-American. Powell was the NCAA Division I Most Outstanding Player in 1997 and 1998. Powell was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2017.

Josh "Shooter" Sanderson is a Canadian former professional lacrosse player. Sanderson played 19 seasons in the National Lacrosse League including nine with the Toronto Rock.

Jake Bergey is a retired lacrosse player. Bergey played ten seasons for the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League. Bergey is the son of former NFL star Bill Bergey, and brother of fellow lacrosse player Josh Bergey.

Tony Resch is a retired lacrosse player, and current field and box lacrosse coach. He is the former head coach of the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League from 1994 to 2001, and led the Wings to four Championships. Resch was named to the NLL Hall of Fame in 2008. Resch returned to coaching as the head coach of the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse. Resch graduated from Yale University, where he was a two-time All-American and three-time First Team All-Ivy League player.

Boston Blazers Former NLL professional box lacrosse team

The Boston Blazers were an indoor lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The Blazers were based in Boston, Massachusetts, and began play in the 2009 NLL season. They are also an AAU basketball team based out of Massachusetts.

Maxwell Oren Seibald is a former professional lacrosse player for the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse. He played midfield position. He graduated in 2009 from Cornell University. He is a former Tewaaraton Award winner, and two-time Team USA player. He played for Team Israel in 2018.

Greg "GD" Downing is a professional lacrosse player with the Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse and with the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. He was selected to participate in the 2008 and 2009 MLL All-Star Games.

Tim Soudan is the current Head Coach for Chrome Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. He joined the team after the conclusion of their 2019 season, replacing legendary coach Dom Starsia. Soudan is a former National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Major League Lacrosse (MLL) player. Soudan was one year too early before the Olympic lacrosse team was formed, and was registered as a player but injured himself making him unable to play. Soudan also played in the NLL for the Boston Blazers (1991–1994) and the Rochester Knighthawks (1995–2005), and in the MLL for the Rochester Rattlers (2001–2003). Soudan coached the Rochester Rattlers from 2011 to 2017, earning coach of the year honors in 2014 and reaching the championship final in 2014 and 2015.

Marty O'Neill is a former lacrosse player and former General Manager of the Minnesota Swarm (2004-2011) and Philadelphia Wings (2001-2004) of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). O'Neill, a goaltender, joined the Boston Blazers of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League in 1993.O'Neill played eight season of Pro lacrosse, five seasons with the Boston Blazers, one with the Syracuse Smash, and two with the Buffalo Bandits before retiring after the 2000 season. He was voted the Blazer's MVP by his teammates in Boston for both the 1994 and 1995 seasons.

Dave Huntley was a Canadian lacrosse player and head coach and general manager with the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. Huntley played collegiate lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University where he helped his team win two national championships. In 1979, Huntley was honored with the McLaughlin Award, which is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college lacrosse midfielder. His son, Kevin Huntley, was also an All-American at Johns Hopkins. Huntley was also the first ever head coach for the Toronto Nationals. David Huntley died December 18, 2017 after suffering a heart attack while attending a box lacrosse game in Delray Beach, Florida.

Brett Queener is an American lacrosse player. He is currently a member of the Chrome Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League and was selected by the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League. He never played for them. Queener is best known as a field lacrosse goaltender, however he plays an offensive position in indoor box lacrosse. Queener is currently the head coach of the Gulf Coast High School varsity lacrosse team.

Rochester Knighthawks NLL professional box lacrosse team

The Rochester Knighthawks are a professional box lacrosse team in the North Division of the National Lacrosse League. They play in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.
