Tom Velisek (born January 15, 1981, in Nelson, British Columbia) is a Canadian snowboarder, specializing in the snowboard cross event. [1]
Velisek made his World Cup debut in December 2001 at Whistler, BC. His first World Cup podium came in January 2003, when he won bronze at an event in Berchtesgaden, and his first, and to date, only victory was in 2004, at Bad Gastein. [2]
Velisek's best World Cup season came in 2004, when he placed 6th overall in the snowboard cross standings. He has competed at four FIS Snowboarding World Championships, with his best finish a 4th in 2009. [2]
Velisek competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics, in the snowboard cross. He placed 18th in the qualifying rounds, advancing him to the 1⁄8 finals, but a third-place finish in his heat meant he did not advance any further, leaving him 23rd overall. [3]
His sister Billie is known for competition ski mountaineering.

Dominique Maltais is a Canadian snowboarder, specialising in snowboard cross. She is a two-time Olympic medallist, winning a bronze medal at the 2006 Torino Games and a silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Games. She also competed at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, where she failed to reach the final. At the FIS Snowboarding World Championships, she won a bronze medal in 2011 and a silver medal in 2013. She is the 2012 Winter X Games champion, and has won the Crystal Globe as the overall FIS World Cup champion in snowboard cross five times, in 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Aleksei Gennadyevich Grishin is a Belarusian freestyle skier who competed at five consecutive Olympics from 1998 to 2014. He won Belarus' only medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics, a bronze in aerials. In 2010, he won the first ever Winter Olympics gold medal for his country, again in the aerials. He finished fourth in 2006 and eighth in 1998. He was the Olympic flag bearer for Belarus at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Games.
Leyti Alexander Seck is a Senegalese alpine skier. He holds dual Austrian/Senegalese nationality. He competed on the international skiing circuit after turning professional in 2002, and competed for Senegal at both the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
