Tomas Aoake (born 6 September 1995) is a New Zealand rugby union player, who currently plays for the San Diego Legion of Major League Rugby (MLR) and Auckland in the National Provincial Championship. His preferred position is wing. [1]
Aoake signed for Major League Rugby side San Diego Legion for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. [2] In October 2023, he re-signed with the club until the end of the 2026 Major League Rugby season. [3]
On 1 August 2022, Aoake was named in the Auckland squad for the 2022 Bunnings NPC season. [4] He returned to the squad two years later for the 2024 season. [5]
He previously played for Tasman [6] and was a member of the North Harbour squad from 2019 to 2021. [7] [8]
The National Provincial Championship (NPC) is an annual round-robin rugby union competition in men's domestic New Zealand rugby. First played in 1976, it is the second highest level of competition in New Zealand alongside the Ranfurly Shield. It is organised by New Zealand Rugby (NZR) and since 2021, it has been known as the Bunnings NPC after Bunnings, its naming rights sponsor. A concurrent women's tournament is also held, the Farah Palmer Cup.
