Tomi Lewis (born 17 January 1999) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays for the Scarlets as a fullback or wing. Lewis has represented Wales 7s and Wales U20, most recently in the 2019 U20 Six Nations. [1]
Lewis attended Llandovery College, and played for their rugby team, while part of the Scarlets academy. [2] in 2017, Lewis was selected for Wales U18 on their tour to South Africa. [2] Lewis was selected for Wales U20 for the 2018 Six Nations Under 20s Championship. [3] He was again selected for the tournament in 2019, as well as for the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship, scoring three tries. [1] [4]
In addition to representing Wales at U18 and U20 levels, Lewis has represented Wales Sevens at numerous events, making his debut in 2017 at age 18, on the Dubai leg, scoring seven tries. [5] In total, he appeared in nine events for Wales Sevens. [6]
While part of the Scarlets academy, Lewis also played for local club Llandovery RFC. [7]
On 11 May 2018, Lewis made his debut for the Scarlets against the Dragons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, starting at fullback and scoring a try. [8]
In January 2020, Lewis joined Ampthill on loan, for the remainder of the 2019–20 season, making five appearances and scoring twice during his time with the club. [9]
Lewis signed a new contract with the Scarlets in August 2020, but soon after suffered a serious knee injury in training. [10] [11] Lewis did not return to the field until January 2022, appearing for Llanelli and Llandovery after his recovery. [7] [12]
Lewis was released by the Scarlets at the end of the 2021–22 season, and subsequently joined the Jersey Reds for the 2022–23 season. [13]
On 25 April 2023, the Scarlets announced that Lewis would rejoin the club ahead of the 2023–24 season. [14] Lewis made his league debut on 18 November 2023, starting against Leinster. [15] He scored two tries in the 2024 Judgement Day fixture against the Dragons, before suffering an achilles injury that would rule him out of the first half of the 2024–25 United Rugby Championship. The Scarlets are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. They play in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. The club was originally named the Llanelli Scarlets but was renamed at the start of the 2008–09 rugby season.
Dafydd Aled Rees Jones is a Welsh former rugby union player who played as a flanker for the Scarlets regional side and the Wales national team. First capped in 2002, he made 42 appearances in a seven-year international career. He also played over 200 times for Llanelli, including appearances for both Llanelli RFC and the Scarlets.
Adam Mathias Jones is a Welsh former professional rugby union player who played as a lock. He captained the Wales Under-19 team and earned his first caps for the Wales senior team as a replacement against England and Scotland in the 2006 Six Nations Championship. He began his career with Swansea RFC before a spell in England with Saracens and Harlequins, before returning to Wales with Cardiff RFC. At the start of the Welsh regional era, he signed for the Llanelli Scarlets and played for them for four seasons, before a seven-year spell with the Newport Gwent Dragons. He also made appearances for Llandovery RFC, Carmarthen Quins RFC, Cross Keys RFC and Newport RFC.
Joshua Turnbull is a Welsh former professional rugby union player, who played in the back row and second row. He played for the Scarlets and Cardiff Rugby in the United Rugby Championship, and at club level for Carmarthen Quins, Llanelli and Llandovery. He played internationally for Wales at under-16, under-18, under-19 and under-20 levels, Wales 7s and earned 13 caps for the senior team between 2011 and 2022. Born in Haverfordwest, he is a fluent Welsh speaker.
Samson Lee is a former Wales international rugby union player. Lee played for the Scarlets, as well as local teams Llanelli and Ammanford. His position is prop forward. Lee has represented Wales, making his debut against Argentina in November 2013.
Jordan Rhys Williams is a Welsh rugby union footballer who plays for the Dragons. His regular position is at full-back, but he has also played at fly-half and on the wing. He began his career with amateur side New Dock Stars RFC, before being signed by Llanelli RFC and ultimately breaking into the Scarlets regional side. However, he struggled to find playing time with the Scarlets and moved to Bristol in 2016, only to return to Wales with the Dragons two years later. He has also played internationally for Wales at under-16, under-18 and under-20 level, as well as for the Wales Sevens team.
Rhodri Williams is a Wales international rugby union player. A scrum-half, he plays his club rugby for the Dragons, having previously played for Scarlets and Bristol Bears
Alex Jeffries is a Welsh former professional rugby union player who played as a prop. He retired from rugby due to a neck injury in April 2023.
