Tommy Lee Pharr (born July 31, 1947) is a former American football defensive back and quarterback that played for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL) in 1970 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League from 1972 to 1974. Pharr played college football at Mississippi State. [1]
Buffalo, New York had a turbulent, early-era National Football League team that operated under multiple names and several different owners between the 1910s and 1920s. The early NFL-era franchise was variously called the Buffalo All-Stars from 1915 to 1917, Buffalo Niagaras in 1918, the Buffalo Prospects in 1919, Buffalo All-Americans from 1920 to 1923, Buffalo Bisons from 1924 to 1925 and in 1927 and 1929, and the Buffalo Rangers in 1926. The franchise, which was experiencing financial problems in 1928, did not participate in league play that season.
Thomas Francis Kramer is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) from 1977 to 1990. Thomas Laverne James Jr. was an American football defensive back and punter who played for Ohio State University and the Cleveland Browns in the 1940s and 1950s. He was born in Canton, Ohio and attended Massillon Washington High School, where he played as a back on the football team under head coach Paul Brown. James was a key part of a Massillon team that went undefeated in 1940. After graduating, he followed Brown to Ohio State and played there as a halfback. Ohio State won its first national championship in 1942 when James was on the team.
