RTV began broadcasting on 26 December 2005 as a sister channel of NTV, and primarily airs entertainment and news programming. It is one of Bangladesh's most popular television channels, according to TRP reports.

Operation Sundarbans or Operation Sundarban is a Bangladeshi wildlife action thriller movie. The film is co-written and directed by Dipankar Sengupta Dipon. The film is produced by RAB Welfare Cooperative Society Ltd. Nazim-ud-Doula and Dipon have written the screenplay. The plot is loosely based on real operations of RAB during surrender of robbers of Sundarbans as well as the struggle of Sundarbans' natives. It stars Riaz, Ziaul Roshan, Siam Ahmed, Taskeen Rahman, Shatabdi Wadud, Nusraat Faria and Darshana Banik, while Manoj Kumar Pramanik, debutant Samina Bashar, Dipu Imam, Ehsanur Rahman also joins the cast. The film begun its shooting on 20 December 2019 at Satkhira.

It is a Bangladesh Government and Impress Telefilm funded joint venture film, based on a journey of an undertaker. It features Gazi Rakayet himself in the titular role, Dilara Zaman, Deepanwita Martin, Moushumi Hamid, Sushoma Sarkar, and Shamima Tusty among others. SM Mohsin and Mamunur Rashid also make guest appearances in the film. The film was simultaneously shot in Bengali, titled Gor respectively. The film is coined as Bangladesh's first bilingual film project. The Grave is initially released in Bangladesh on 25 December 2020, and later on Hollywood as the first Bangladeshi-produced film. The film was also submitted to compete in the general category of the 94th Academy Awards; as it is the first Bangladeshi film to be competing in this category. The film was added to the 2022 Oscar Reminder List. The film bagged 11 National film awards of Bangladesh.
Rehana Maryam Noor is a 2021 Bangladeshi film. The film is directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad and produced by Jeremy Chua under the banner of Metro Video and co-produced by Sensemakers Productions. The film is about the struggling life of a 37-year-old assistant professor of a medical college. It was internationally distributed by German-based sales and distribution company Films Boutique. In 2021, it was selected in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. It is the first Bangladeshi film to be featured in this category. It was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Rehana Maryam Noor bagged two awards at Asia Pacific Screen Awards. The director of the film Abdullah Mohammad Saad bagged the Jury Grand Prize and actress Azmeri Haque Badhon bagged award in Best Performance by an Actress category.
