Tony Godden (born 19 April 1972) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle in the Australian Football League (AFL).

The Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Dockers, is a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The club represents and was previously based in the port city of Fremantle at the mouth of the Swan River in Western Australia and now has their training and headquarters at Cockburn ARC in Cockburn Central. In 1995 it became the second team from Western Australia after the West Coast Eagles to be admitted to the AFL, honouring the rich footballing tradition and history associated with Fremantle.

He was originally drafted by the Eagles from Subiaco in the West Australian Football League with selection 64 in the 1992 AFL Draft. After playing 13 games over three seasons he was selected by Fremantle as an uncontracted player. As per the AFL drafting rules at the time, the Eagles were then entitled to a compensation draft selection, which they used to select 16-year-old David Wirrpanda, who went on to play over 200 AFL games. Godden would play a total of 11 games for Fremantle in three seasons before being delisted at the end of the 1998 season after missing the entire 1997 season due to injury.

David Wirrpanda Australian rules footballer

David Selwyn Burralung Merringwuy Galarrwuy Wyal Wirrpanda is a former Australian rules footballer, best known for his career with the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Born in Melbourne, Wirrpanda was raised in Shepparton, Victoria. David attended Parkmore Primary School in Forest Hill, where in a school football match he kicked 32 goals in one game. He went on to attend Worawa Aboriginal College in Healesville, which had been established by his mother's family. He began his football career with a local team, and subsequently progressed to the Eastern Ranges team in the under-18 TAC Cup. Selected by West Coast during the 1995 draft period, Wirrpanda made his debut for the club during the following season. Having played his first game for West Coast at the age of 16 years and 268 days, he remains the youngest player to have played a senior game for the club.
