Tony Newton (30 November) [1] is an English bassist, recording engineer and record producer, most active in heavy metal and hard rock genres. He is the current bassist of KK's Priest and Voodoo Six. He has also produced and/or engineered releases from Iron Maiden and British Lion.
In the 90s, Newton was bassist of a heavy metal band Dirty Deeds, with singer Pete Franklin, guitarist Barry Fitzgibbon and drummer Dave Cavill. [2] Dirty Deeds supported UFO on their Walk On Water UK tour and Iron Maiden on their Virtual XI tour. [3] The band were signed to Beast Records, by Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris. [3] They released two Real World (1999) and Danger of Infection (2002). [4] Newton has continued his association with Harris and Iron Maiden, including engineering or producing many of their releases. [5] [6]
Newton, along with guitarist Richie Faulkner (who had been a member of Dirty Deeds), [7] founded hard rock band Voodoo Six in 2003. [8] The bands first line-up in 2005 also included drummer Dave "Grav" Cavill, vocalist Henry Rundell, and second guitarist Matt Pearce. [8] The band released their debut album Feed My Soul in 2006, [9] which was remix and released as First Hit For Free in 2008. [10] Faulkner departed Voodoo Six in 2011 to join Judas Priest. [7] Voodoo Six have released a further four album and two EPs and have done many tours, including supporting Iron Maiden. [11]
In 2021 Newton became the bassist for KK's Priest, a band started by K. K. Downing, whom Faulkner had replaced in Judas Priest. [12] Newton has played bass, mixed and engineered both of their albums to date, [13] [14] and toured with the band. [15]

Judas Priest are an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently ranked as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Despite an innovative and pioneering body of work in the latter half of the 1970s, the band struggled with indifferent record production and a lack of major commercial success until 1980, when their sixth studio album British Steel brought them notable mainstream attention.

Glenn Raymond Tipton is an English guitarist. Often noted for his complex playing style and classically influenced solos, he is best known as one of the lead guitarists for the heavy metal band Judas Priest. He is the second longest-serving member of the band, after bassist and co-founder Ian Hill. Tipton and Hill are the only two members of the band who have appeared on every studio album.
Timothy S. "Ripper" Owens is an American heavy metal singer who currently performs with KK's Priest, Spirits of Fire, the Three Tremors and A New Revenge. He first gained attention as the lead singer of Judas Priest and then Iced Earth. Six Feet Under is an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1993. The band consists of five members: founding vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarists Ray Suhy and Jack Owen, bassist Jeff Hughell and drummer Marco Pitruzzella. It was originally a side project formed by Barnes with guitarist Allen West of Obituary, but became a full-time commitment after Barnes was dismissed from Cannibal Corpse in 1995. Killers is the second studio album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It was first released on 2 February 1981 in the United Kingdom by EMI Records and on 11 May in the United States by Harvest and Capitol Records. The album was their first with guitarist Adrian Smith, and their last with vocalist Paul Di'Anno, who was fired after problems with his stage performances arose due to his alcohol and cocaine use. Killers was also the first Iron Maiden album recorded with producer Martin Birch, who went on to produce their next eight albums until Fear of the Dark (1992).
Testament is an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California. Formed in 1983 under the name Legacy, the band's current lineup comprises rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, lead vocalist Chuck Billy, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick, bassist Steve Di Giorgio and drummer Chris Dovas. Testament has experienced many lineup changes over the years, with Peterson being the only remaining original member, though they have since reunited with Skolnick, who had been out of the band from 1992 to 2005. Redeemer of Souls is the seventeenth studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, which was released in the US on 8 July 2014, in Europe on 11 July, and in the UK on 14 July. It is their first album without founding guitarist K. K. Downing, who quit the band in 2011 and was replaced by new guitarist Richie Faulkner. It also marks the band's last album to be produced by Glenn Tipton. The album sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to peak at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the band's first top 10 album debut in the US. It has sold 110,000 copies in the US as of February 2016.

Released in 2018, it was the band's first studio album since 1988's Ram It Down to be produced by Tom Allom and the first one with Andy Sneap as co-producer. The album sold around 49,000 copies in the United States within its first week of release, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the US. The album also reached No. 5 in the UK, making it their first top-ten album in the UK since British Steel. Music videos were made for "Lightning Strike", "Spectre" and "No Surrender". A lyric video was made for "Never the Heroes". The record also produced three singles.

It was produced by the band's touring guitarist Andy Sneap, who also produced 2018's Firepower, while the album's last two tracks were co-produced by Tom Allom.
