Tonya Kinzinger is an American dancer, model and actress who has attained fame in France. [1]

Biography

Kinzinger was born on 20 June 1968 in Monroe, Michigan. [1] [2] She began dancing at three years old, when her mother enrolled her in tap dancing lessons, and became passionate about ballet dancing at the age of six. [3] Several years later, she left Michigan to study at a well known dance school in New York. Scouted by a photographer, Kinzinger joined a modelling agency and worked as a model in Paris. She returned to the US to finish high school [3] before moving to France to pursue a career in acting.

She appeared in the film Dancing Machine with Alain Delon. [3] [4] She then played Jessica in the TV series Sous le soleil (Under the Sun), from 1996 to 2008, for which she is best known in France. In 2006, she appeared in two episodes of the series The Bold and the Beautiful in Los Angeles. [5] In 2007, she also launched a fashion collection called "Tonya - K." in collaboration with Christophe Lebo. She played Sally in the movie Fool Moon, directed by Jérôme L'Hotsky, which was filmed in Britain in July and August 2007. [5] Kinzinger acted in Dreams, a series broadcast on the French television network NRJ 12. In 2011, after meeting Stéphane Slima on the set of Sous le soleil, she acted in the play Le Président, sa femme et moi. (The President, His Wife, and Me). In 2012, she hosted season 9 of Star Academy on the NRJ 12 network. In 2014, she was a contestant on Danse avec les stars 5 and reached the semifinals. [1] [5]

Kinzinger married Bernard Lignon on 27 December 1998. They have one son Sacha, born in 2003. [5]

Under the Sun of Satan is a 1987 French drama film directed by Maurice Pialat, starring Gérard Depardieu, Sandrine Bonnaire and Pialat himself. It is based on the 1926 novel of the same name by Georges Bernanos. Set in the countryside of northern France in the 1920s, it tells the story of a tormented young priest who has spiritual gifts but agonises over what good he can do in a world under the grip of evil. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

Sous le soleil is a French soap opera broadcast on French major channel TF1 from 1996 to 2008. A spin-off, Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez has been broadcast in French channel TMC since 2013.

Jonathan Jerzy Carnoy is an American writer and director currently living and working in France. Growing up in Menlo Park, California, he started working seriously in film while attending Colorado College, where he made several short comedic films. Following graduation, he worked in Hollywood as a camera assistant and production assistant on music videos, films and commercials including a stint on Twin Peaks, as production driver. He then attended NYU Graduate Film Program where he wrote and directed the award-winning short Dinner with Malibu. He completed his graduate work at the FEMIS Film School in Paris, France where he wrote and directed more award-winning short films. Since then Jon Carnoy went on to direct feature films back in the USA, as well as successful TV series both in the USA and in France. Among his other talents are speaking French, playing the piano, and singing Journey songs.

Danse avec les stars is the French version of British TV show Strictly Come Dancing, first broadcast on TF1 on February 12, 2011, the participants having been selected in November 2010. The first series finale took place on March 19, 2011. A second series was broadcast between October 8 and November 19, 2011. Since then TF1 has chosen to broadcast the program once a year, in the autumn. The show has tentatively scheduled its thirteenth series to begin in 2024.

Les Anges, formerly Les Anges de la téléréalité, is a reality TV show broadcast on NRJ 12. In 2021, NRJ 12 announced to stop the TV show definitively.
