Toofan Singh is a 2017 Indian Punjabi-language biographical drama film directed by Baghal Singh and starring Ranjit Bawa as the Sikh militant Toofan Singh. [2]
Though the Indian Central Board of Film Certification refused to certify and banned the film in 2016, it was released internationally in 2017.[ citation needed ]
The Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) is a Khalistani militant organisation operating in the Punjab state of India, with prominent members based in Canada, United Kingdom and Pakistan. Its objective is the creation of a sovereign Sikh nation‐state of Khalistan through armed struggle. It is responsible for numerous assassinations, abductions, and military engagements with the Indian Armed Forces during the Insurgency in Punjab. The KLF is also listed as a designated terrorist group by India.

He was murdered by three unknown extremists on the steps of Golden temple while leaving after prayers on 25 April 1983 concluded by the CBI investigation that followed. Jugraj Singh, better known as Toofan Singh, was a militant member of the Khalistan Liberation Force who was born in 1971 in Sri Hargobindpur, Punjab, India. According to police records, he was allegedly involved in 150 killings. He was killed in an encounter with police on 8 April 1990.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh is an Indian historical drama television series created by Raj Babbar. It was directed by Chitraarth and Sikander Bharti and produced by Nadira Babbar and Kukoo Babbar of Babbar Films Private Limited. The drama aired on DD National from 13 April 2010 to 3 May 2011. The series is based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and covers the part of history of Punjab from 1739 to 1812. The show comprised 56 episodes. The music was composed by Jagjit Singh. Filming was done between 2004–2010.
Avtar Singh Brahma was a Sikh militant (kharku) and one of the main founding figures and the second leader of Khalistan Liberation Force during the insurgency in Punjab, India. Avtar Singh became known for his encounters with the police, Operation Mand being particularly notable.
Operation Mand was a military operation launched by the Punjab Police in India to capture or kill Avtar Singh Brahma and Tat Khalsa members from the 21st to the 22nd of July, 1986.
