Labrador Peninsula Large peninsula in eastern Canada

The Labrador Peninsula, or Quebec-Labrador Peninsula, is a large peninsula in eastern Canada. It is bounded by the Hudson Bay to the west, the Hudson Strait to the north, the Labrador Sea to the east, and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence to the southeast. The peninsula includes the region of Labrador, which is part of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, and the regions of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord, and Nord-du-Québec, which are in the province of Quebec. It has an area of 1,400,000 km2 (541,000 sq mi).

The Labrador Party was the name of two political parties in Newfoundland advocating the interests of the region of Labrador, Canada.

Torngat Mountains Mountain range in eastern Canada

The Torngat Mountains are a mountain range on the Labrador Peninsula at the northern tip of Newfoundland and Labrador and eastern Quebec. They are part of the Arctic Cordillera. The mountains form a peninsula that separates Ungava Bay from the Atlantic Ocean.

Kiglapait Mountains

Nachvak Fiord

Nachvak Fjord is a deep fiord in northern Labrador nearly 2 km (1.2 mi) wide and 20 km (12 mi) long. The fjord is divided in two arms on the western end called Tallek and Tasiuyak. The Torngat Mountains that surround Nachvak Fjord are the highest in Labrador, where both Mount Razorback to the north and Mount Caubvick to the south are located.

Torngat Mountains National Park is a Canadian national park located on the Labrador Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The park encompasses 9,700 km2 of mountainous terrain between Northern Québec and the Labrador Sea. Set in the Torngat Mountains, the name comes from the Inuktitut word Tongait, meaning "place of spirits". It contains the highest mountains in Mainland Canada east of the Rockies. The subarctic Torngat Mountains are the Inuit homeland, a treasure trove of the powerful stories, spirits and traditions of centuries of travellers.

Wally Andersen is a former Liberal Member of the House of Assembly in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. He was first elected in 1996 in the riding Torngat Mountains and was re-elected twice. His is currently the Mayor of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Killiniq Island Small, remote island in northeastern Canada

Killiniq Island is a small, remote island in southeastern Nunavut, Canada. Located at the extreme northern tip of Labrador between Ungava Bay and the Labrador Sea, it is notable in that it contains the only land border between Nunavut and Newfoundland and Labrador. Most other islands off the northern coast of Quebec and Labrador belong exclusively to Nunavut. Some cartographic sources do not correctly show the island's geopolitical boundaries; for instance, the Commission de toponymie du Québec seems to show it as belonging to Quebec.

Saglek Airport

Saglek Airport, formerly IATA: YSV, ICAO: CYSV, was located in the Torngat Mountains in northern Labrador and was originally built by the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1954, as part of the Pinetree Line and formed part of RCAF Station Saglek.

Cirque Mountain is a mountain located 11 km (7 mi) northeast of Mount Caubvick, Labrador, Canada. It is the third highest mountain in Labrador, after Caubvick (1,652 m) and Torngarsoak Mountain (1,595 m), and lies in the Selamiut Range, which is a subrange of the Torngat Mountains. Before 1971, it was believed that Cirque Mountain was the highest peak, in Canada, east of the Rocky Mountains and south of Baffin Island.

Kuururjuaq National Park

Kuururjuaq National Park is a 4,460 km2 (1,720 sq mi) national park, created in May 2009 and managed by the Kativik Regional Government, in northeast Quebec, Canada. It stretches all the way from Ungava Bay to Mount D'Iberville, which is on the Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec border. Mount D'Iberville, at an altitude of 1,646 m (5,400 ft), is the highest mountain in eastern continental Canada, dominating over the entire Torngat Mountain range. The 166 km (103 mi) Koroc River runs through the national park to Ungava Bay. Kuururjuaq National Park contains a variety of different ecosystems and comprises three natural regions: the Torngat Mountain Foothills, the George River Plateau and the Ungava Coast. Like other Nunavik parks, Kuururjuaq National Park is developed and managed by the Inuit.

Lela Margaret Ann Evans is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly in the 2019 provincial election. She represents the electoral district of Torngat Mountains as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. She was re-elected in the 2021 provincial election.

Torngat Mountain tundra

The Torngat Mountain tundra ecoregion covers the Torngat Mountains on the northeastern tip of the Labrador Peninsula where the provinces of Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador meet. The mountains feature glacially carved U-shaped valleys and deep fjords. The vegetation over most of the territory is that of arctic tundra, herbaceous cover, or bare rock. The region supports seasonal polar bears, black bears, and caribou. The Atlantic coast is on the Atlantic Flyway for migratory birds.
